That's was my first thought but I questioned it because Doug said Unreal couldn't send his in, it has to be a completely new unit sold. I could see the Sfi rating causing a lot of problems for people that already have one.

That royally sucks for people that need replacement parts that are committed to the cog setup already.
Exactly, just a hassle really, but we have no choice.

You do, actually, but aren't willing to risk issues with your insurance company over it.

Not to say I wouldn't do the same in that position, but it still sucks for guys who depend on the cog system you guys came up with.

It's just a hiccup, everything will be back in action shortly. Running a "clean" business takes more then just a good product sometimes. Frustrating at times, but that's life.

holy crap, that sucks about your balancer... did they find the root cause of why those bolts came loose or broke?... the pic below is the one I was sent awhile back and it has a few more bolts around the hub area as compared to your old one, is this the upgraded design?

That's what mine looks like but those extra bolts appear to be for an external pulley. (Vacuum pump maybe?) I may be wrong but have never received an answer about it. Mine was shipped with those bolts in a bag.

weird, mine were already installed on the balancer... so if this is the case then what is the difference between a standard 10 rib and "high hp" 10 rib??

I wonder also. Mine isn't even a 10 rib, it's an 8. Surely they don't need "high hp" modifications for us low hp guys still running an 8 rib. Lol!

#10012 - LSX Blower Hub Option - Add $25.00
The blower hub has a larger OD that makes for a thicker hub to resist cracking in high load, high horsepower supercharger vehicles. This blower hub option comes with a matching seal designed to install into stock timing covers.
I'm assuming this is the high HP option but I'm not 100% sure

Those are the new hub design with the extra 3/8" hardware.

Doug is treating me good as always. No issue. Not in a big rush anyways since I'm missing everything I wanted to.

Glad ECS is taking care of you. I wish I had known about the extra bolts. Not like I didn't ask, just never got an answer. I guess I should put them in. Probably don't need it for a measly 730hp though. Lol!

They have only seen 3-4 at 1100+rwhp range come apart, which is why they redesigned the hub with extra hardware. They have had zero failures since then. No one else should have an issue. Just sucks for me.

See below advice..

I wonder if I could just program one of my CNC machining centers to drill and tap those additional holes... Would take no time at all. Wish I could get measurements off the HD version. If it's as simple as taking the hub apart and drilling and tapping I could do this cheap for people that are in need.

Shell and hub are different. Cant be added to old design. The bolts are just how you identify the difference.

Are you sure? Because to me it looks as if all they did was drill additional holes in the shell and hub, it doesn't look like a different balancer as a whole.

SM, That is what they told me. The parts are revised and different, and they can't just add holes to an old balancer. They changed several other dimensions and features to make it stronger.
