I have placed an order for one today and hope to receive a final cost with shipping so that I can finalize the transaction. I think this unit will make a big difference with the c6 and provide us with some hands on flexibility
Sounds like "fun" but since I'm electronically challenged".......
HOWEVER, if "they" could add a program that would, er....disable the
tire pressure sensors so a "racer" could switch wheel/tire combinations without a lot of hassle, it would/could be a good selling point all on it's own.
The TP sensor issue is something a vendor should jump on - thousands of track day people and autoXers are waiting.
Diablo has been improving their product over the last few years. Constant testing and fine tuning has provided us with many more features. I'm courious to see if there will be anything "extra" with this one. I'll try to get an update tomorrow.
The Predator plugs into the port under your dash on the driver's side. It loads a new program into your computer (process only takes about 5 minutes) and then you can unplug the unit. The dealer isn't supposed to deny warranty coverage unless something you do actually causes the problem. You can return the tuning to stock if you'll feel better about that when bringing the car in for service.
I didn't read the thread about the A4/M6 but to me it seems like at least 70% are a 6 speed My '00 was an A4. Seeing that my C6 took awhile to be build I had time to think for awhile and change the order from an A4 to M6. There are times when I like to shift and then they are times when I wish that I could just sit there and steer
OK, if I put in a cam, and a low temp thermo, can this unit compensate?
From what I understand, if you do a cam or heads, etc., you can get a dyno tune and save it to the Predator. You can then make tweaks using the predator.
Also, you can contact Predator with you cam specs and they will modify/create a program and post it on their site or through email for you to download into you Predator. So, as you mod your car you can constantly update your program. I'm sure this would be for a price, but do not know how much. Though, I'm sure it would be cheaper than getting a dyno tune everytime for $400-$500.
This is from my understanding. Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm sure you will
Diablosports says it can alter/disable torque management. "It can do anything HPtuners or LS1 edit can do in a custome tune."-provided you datalog and get A/F values from a wideband.
There will be one going into my car as soon as the first shipment arrives! I'm going to try to get an update today. I've heard they are getting closer to releasing the LS2 version.
