Stinky,
Was there much of a difference in sound by leaving stock mufflers with headers? Can you describe the sound?
Actually, yes, a noted "improvement" in the exhaust tone throughout the rpm range but especially when you wind that sucker up...btwn 4 & 6 grand its "woody" time When you let foot off gas and let it roll, like down hill or coming up on a light, it has a nice mellow rumble to it. Overall, its not loud just nice. Has some drone in low rpm, say 1500 to 1900 but not overpowering, just noticable when compared to stock exhaust. I'm happy with the exhaust note as it is now and certainly won't be considering aftermarket muffs. No need to.
It would be interesting if those posting would specify 6 speed or automatic - should be a noticeable difference.
My C6 automatic (stock except for GHL) with 12,000 miles pulled 341.08 horsepower and 337.03 torque at 88 degrees F last Saturday. I was pretty pleased.
It was fine after I had my tuner raise the idle to 850. Prior to raising the idle the rpm's would bounce around and come close to stall then bounce back.
A friend of mine had LAPD do pretty much the same head and cam package and got about the same results 450.......415
Where is this tuner located, How much did he charge? I am in MD and I am looking for a tuner nearby.
Spoke with Jeremy today and he will be coming back to McNews in Dillsburg, PA. in November. Give him a call. He'd do a MD/VA tuning session if we could only get enough people together.
