We found the shift control assembly that the shifter (Hurst) bolts to has a bent rod that clamps to the long shift rod. This was making the shift rod bind badly going into reverse . The tech was able to realign the shift control assemble to reduce the bonding and the transmission would then go into reverse . Parts are now on order to replace the shift control assembly. Has anyone ever seen this problem? I do not know how the short rod in the shift control assembly could have bent. Could it be that it was like that when my 05 C6 was built? I should get it back from the dealer today.
