Rousch Stage 3 Mustang as tested in Road & Track is 4.7 to 60 and runs the 1/4 in 13.3 at 107 with 5 lbs of boost. Add another 3 lbs and better gears....... I'd bet it would come down to a drivers race.
As said before your still comparing a Mustang to a Vette. Even if the Mustang is at the end of the track first the Vette's still the real winner.
That's a matter of perspective. How about comparing 50,000 apples to 50,000 apples? The argument being, as someone else pointed out, that $50k into a Mustang (supercharged) can beat $50k into a Vette (stock).
Mind you, I don't give a sh*t either, as I'd gladly spend $60k on my convertible Vette rather than $35k on a mustang with $25k on mods. Even if I lose the race, I'll be psyched to take my Vette home.

My coworker has a 2005 Mustang GT with a Kenne Belle supercharger. We ran twice, once from about 60 to 100 and again from 70 to 120. I pulled on him pretty good both races. All I have done is GHL exhaust and a Halltech intake. He has just installed the 9 psi pulley, haven't raced him since then. From a dead stop, I think he would work me pretty good until 80 or 90 mph. He has drag radials, BMR traction bars and it is an automatic.
Are you comparing a stock C6 to a modified Mustang? I suggest that no one really cares. Spend the same amount on both cars and the C6 will win it is a better starting platform.
Good post!! Put enough money into a covered wagon and it will beat a C6. Well, maybe not a wagon, but you get the point . . .
While those Mustang guys are pouring all their spare change into their cars trying to keep up with the likes of Corvette, I'll be cruising along, carefree, in the greatest American sports car.
Mustang GT= Roseanne (Arnold, Bar, whatever)
Corvette= Jessica Alba
Regardless of whether the Mustang can outrun a Vette at the end of the day it is still Roseanne & I'd much rather take home Jessica.
When people talk about how they can beat your car and only spend $xxx on the car and $x on mods. Yeah, that's when you know they wish they were driving what you're driving, or wish they were screw'in what you're screw'in.
All I know is that when my replacement C6 sat at the dealer for six weeks waiting for GM to do the paperwork, I was going to sell it and get a Stage 3 Roush Mustang. That was until I found out that the Roush Mustang was $52K (could not find anyone that would deal) and my C6 in yelllow with the Z51 package, was $41,800. I also found out at Livernous Corvette day (never saw so many high perf Mustangs in my life in one place), that Roush, Saleen and most of the other Mustang tuner guys use a stock bottom end. If you get a Mustang with a factory blower, they have forged bottom end parts.
I guess what I am trying to say is that the Mustang needs a blower to catch up and then the relaibility may be comprimsed and the price is higher than a C6.
I have liked stangs for years but the Vette is a better machine I must admit. Anyone can beat anyone just depends what you want to dump in to it. For $6000 a simple SC setup on the C6 @630hp will spank quite a few out there, but the the top fuel dragster will still spank you. Who cares other than conversation and if you really care why did you buy the Vette anyway. I bought mine because I love it over the new Stang and I have a 67GT in the garage. The new Stang just does not do it for me neither does the new GT500. The look is just off and from the rear it looks like a Nissan 300z a few years back model.

I have a $13,000 motorcycle that will outrun them both. Isn't it fun when we get to make up our own rules?
