Someone will always be faster no matter what you do. Be satisfied with what you have, I am (05 C6) and (owned Mustangs for over 30 years) and still have one but the C6 I love just as much but it is not a muscle car per say but very fast and handles like a dream. Both are fun and who cares what is faster, no me. Go drive your cars and stop worrying who may beat you unless your sitting on the track for money.
I paid 39.9K for my c6 brand new. The mustang GT goes for about 32K new. My guess is that if I drove a 1/4 in my c6 and a 1/4 in the mustang, the c6 would be quicker. The question is whether or not the c6 is worth an extra 8K. For me it is. As far as the 45K Cobra model goes, stock for stock same driver the c6 probably still wins. So is it worth 5K more? That is up to the consumer.
Its not really too fair to compare the cheapest price I've ever seen on a C6 (is that a typo?) to the most expensive Mustang available. My '06 GT with leather and several options was only $25K new. Much less than the $32K you quoted.

No it wasn't a typo. That was the GMS price for a 2006 C6 1lt with Z51and manual transmission in Lemans blue. I know it is not exactly a fair comparison, but I don't know how much off MSRP Ford will go on the Mustangs. My point was and still is stock for stock the vette is faster and they can be had for a good price if you shop around. Even compared to the Cobra model the vette is still hard to beat stock for stock.
Don't you all read Car and Driver?They just did a article on a new mustang shelby gt500 and a stock C6.The mustang has 500 hp and 480lb of torque.And we all know the C6 has 400 hp and 400 lb of torque.But the mustang still could not handle the C6.0 to 60 in the mustang is 4.5 and the c6 is 4.3. The only thing the mustang has on the C6 is 50 to 70 in top gear.C6 in 9.1 and the mustang in 8.8.They are close in price but I would still rather have the c6.

There have been a number of factory cars over the years since the 60's that when fitted with a supercharger would easily beat the C6 AND the new Mustang in the 1/4 mile. So what?
The C6 however, is the KING of it's price range when acceleration, handling and styling are the measuring factors - end of story!
