No, I don't think so. The LS2 is not a completely different motor from LS1. And its not the first year of the Corvette so IMO and from my experience that statement is false.
I have 05 Z51 MN6....13,000K miles
Driven much harder than average, w/mods.
Problems: Battery (which is probably due to me leaving it in acc. mode)
Air Pressure sensor and tires losing pressure (again, not something I can be upset about as its kind of a minor issue when dealing with a 50,000 car.
I got mine in Sept. 04, one of the first our dealer had and I hadn't saw one on the street prior to my purchase,
I charge the battery and get it running and as I expected no lights had been left on or anything; the 10 minute power shutoff would have turned them off if they had but the switches would still be in the on position and they would have come on & stayed on when the car was restarted.
Anyway, the car had 500 miles put on it the weekend before so I cannot imagine that it would have drained that quickly. The car gets a good run virtually every weekend.
Car has had the DBS reflash, got a new alternator about two months ago, and the battery was replaced less than 6 months ago (all warranty stuff).
Well, car is going in on Monday to have the steering rack replaced for a leak where the steering column meets the rack. It took over a month for the part to come in but I guess it works out better for me now that I can get all this stuff looked at in one visit.
Other issues being addressed on this visit include rear end chatter and service active handling message (2nd occurrence). Oh yea, I am hoping to get the body shop to look at my roof again too since there is some 2nd recall on the roof panel. I have the SMC roof already so I don't know what the recall is for this time.
1. roof delamination (replaced before it blew off)

#8 ignition paint chipping
- Driver's seat excessive wear on outside bolster (warranty)
- Driver's seat belt latch broke (warranty)
Best new car I have owned. Less problems than other new cars I have owned.
Overall, this is the best performance car I ever owned. I was going to get a supercar like a ferrari or lambo but wanted to drive it daily. I think anyone wanting a 4.2 0-60 car, is insane not to get this car even with all the problems. Any other car would have a **** load of other problems along with insane servicing costs. I just dide my front and rear pads for $80 and I did it myself in 1 hour.
FYI pads on a 360 modena are $1,200 and $500 labor
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I agree with other posts in this thread; seems like this car was run to death and put up wet.
I have an '05 MN6 Z51 with 6200 miles...I baby this car inside and out.
Only issues are roof delam...fixed by recall
Brake squeal...fixed by GM (new pads)
center console lock broken...doesn't bother me.
Other than that, my C6 was one of the first off the line and has been a great car.
Between the clutch work that was done a few months ago and the rear diff’ service the car is much smoother.
Apparently my battery died because the radio was not going to sleep so they had to re program something.
Spent a couple hours on the road Saturday and maybe it was just a mental thing but the car felt like everything was finally dialed in.
Not sure why some cars seem to have lots a problems and other are problem free. I know a friend of mine has had his '07 Avalanche in for re-programing three times.!
