Default '05 issues

I purchased my '05 in Feb. '06 (used)
last 8 on the VIN ... 55102xxx
built late Aug. and just in to Sep. '04

I have had the follwoing issues (and in some cases, still dealing with).
I am wondering what other issues I should be reporting to my mechanic before the warranty runs out.

1. roof delamination (replaced before it blew off)
2. belt squeal associated with loose harmonic ballancer (on-going issue)
3. trunk release button at rear of car will not work
4. lumbar and side bolster switches failed on driver's seat
5. Nav. DVD will not eject (and still will not play MP3s after updated firmware)
6. L shapped restraining bracket by firewall on passenger's side fell out
7. front turn/daytime running lights melted wiring harness and stopped working
8. finish on interior door release buttons and ignition swith chipping
9. vinyl on glove box tearing on right edge
10. dead battery
11. oil leak near bell housing
12. fluid leak between transimission and rear end
13. steering wheel keeps shifting (center shifts to about 11 o'clock postion)
14. HUD clear lens turned white at bend/curve in plastic

What else could possibly go wrong?

I guess I am right when I say first year owners are "test divers".

Guess the engine could blow. Seems some 05's are fine and 100% problem free and others have big time issues. This can happen with any year or make, be it GM, Ford and so on.

Default '05 without issues

Just out of curosity. I would love to know how many '05s have had few if any issues. Of the 30K produced it would great to see info like:
% of cars driven daily
% of cars with less than 24K miles as of 12/31/06
% of cars with less than 12K miles as of 12/31/06
% of cars with less than 6K miles as of 12/31/06

of those driven more frequently would the owners consider their corvette:
a. my baby that I love and cherish
b. a really cool toy that is worth me putting a little time in to
c. the car that gets me from point a to b faster than a Honda

I think the previous owner of my car drove it almost daily considering they put 12 miles on it in a year and to them it feel in category C

Sounds like you bought a used car that had the $hit ran out of it.

power steering hose, rear clutch pack, abs module, steering sensor, fuel card, if its an auto missmachine case, left and right antenna, axle nuts re torque, crank shaft pulley, reprogram radio for static and if they do it right it will play mp3, and they will change those squealing brakes and who knows what else. I'm sure someone will add

True...go ask some late '90s/early '00s Mercedes and BMW buyers about some of their vehicular nightmares. The Asian import nameplates have had their share of issues as of late as well.

This is some good intel'
I have noticed the clutch issue a few times before but thought it was something I might have done in the particular situation. I'll mention this when I drop it off at the shop next time

My 05 Z51, MZ6, 1SB, has 20K on it and is very tight. Born on 11/04.
I had one battery die and had the DBS reflash and it has been fine since.
Its been a very enjoyable car so far.

My A/C was overcharged at the factory causing windows to fog. The worst occasion was at night on mountain road!! Also, crankshaft position sensor failed on freeway in Vegas. Had to be towed to dealer. Many other issues and I finally traded it in on an '07. I didn't feel comfortable selling it privately.........

On mine, only the DBS issue, a problem-new battery in September, & the re-flash done, & all is well. Really, other than that, all has been just perfect! In addition, my '05 is tight as a drum. Not a squeek or rattle.
I'm very pleased.

Early '05 Z51 MN6 VIN 4997
Just under 10,000 miles, daily driver.

Rocker panel and underside damage per dealer PDI right off the bat, fixed!
DBS X 3 or 4, but none in 20 months. Got the reflash at 2 years.
Clutch 'sticking to the floor' problem several times at high RPM, fixed by me with 50 cent bracket to reduce clutch throw. No more problem in 2 years.
Replaced squealing brake pads under warranty at 12 months. Also took care of excessive brake dust.
A/C freon removal fix at 12 months.
Repaired stuck outside rear hatch button ala Pipedreams DIY.
Paint chip damage to the front edge of both rear 1/4 panels due to poor door alignment fixed and painted. Home made rubber bumpers installed by me. No more chips.
Did the fluid exchange for noisy rear end at 2 years. Seems to have worked, so far.
Replaced clutch slave fluid numerous times with significant and now
sustained improvement in clutch feel and smoothness.
Very loose rear sway bar bolts found when inspecting underside.
Roof still needs repaint and/or replacement. No delamination yet. Roof has slightly mismatched original DSOM paint.
Driver seat rocking. Had that twice fixed with my C5.
Shifter is now rattling at mid RPMs especially when cold. I might try the 'tennis ball' fix...

In 2 years, 24K miles, these have been my issues requiring attention:

Trunk latch release button sticks in the in position @ tail gate
Radio replaced twice
Delaminated roof recall
Rear differential noise - fluid change solved that
Replaced fuel door latch mechanism
Passenger side running light went out a few times
Climate control started blinking - bad sensor was replaced

All in all, I love my C6!

Mine has 7500 miles.
DBS twice second time repplaced bad battery and has been fine since June.
That is the only problem so far.

Thats exactly what it sounds like. Was this car bought off of a used car lot, or a dealers used car lot? Did it come in from the auction?
