You should look into a z06 exhaust... nice compromise

if you go with zo6 axle back, it is my belief that you will need the 3 inch x pipe when you get your headers.

cbrf4i1,

I didn't want to do both the headers and axle back. So, is this Z06 axle back a bolt on for the C6? Does it sound like a C6 Z06 on the C6 or near it?

Misinformation is not your friend. Corsa is straight through with a few holes that allow sound waves to travel up into chambers. There are no lips or anything else on those holes. Just nice straight pipe for the exhaust to run through. This is likely the least restrictive muffler your money can buy at this time since it is essentially straight pipe. I have them. I have seen that pipe and can confirm that this is true.

As for GM.... Again, dont buy into the hype from someone who is trying to sell you something. While we dont know where the new power is coming from we do know some places it isnt coming from. That fancy muffler is one of them.

This isnt new information. Its been known from the begining that cat backs are pretty much worthless for adding power on a stock motored C6. I am sorry to be the messenger (also suprised since this is common knowledge at this point) and dont mean to rain on your parade but this is the truth.

If you insist on believing a sellers hype then I would suggest going to the aeroturbine website and buying that product. You can gain 35 pretend hp instead of 15. Yes, Im ribbing you a little with that last bit but it does kind of put it into perspective. Dont buy into hype.

zo6 cat back / axle back is a 3 inch system. stock c6 is 2.5 inch..so if you want to use your stock h-pipe you will have to have a reducer from 3 to 2.5, a good exhaust shop would have that in stock. this is not something that a avg person at avg home garage / avg tools can do. when you order headers, some header manufacture like kook will allow you to order the 3 inch x pipe instead of 2.5 inch. if you are going to do zo6 cat back just make sure you order the right size x pipe. you could also just use the stock cat back with headers. it has a nice sound to it when you nail it. it isn't too loud by any standard. good luck.

vetteweb disagree in the case of the bullets. Headers dont really add 30whp either..

Some have gotten close to this with just headers alone. No tune. Check the C4 and C5 sections thoroughly and you will come across instances of people gaining near that with headers alone.
