from what I know about these systems they replace the factory TC totally, you leave the factory unconnected.
You are correct. It takes over the OEM traction control and active handling system. Once calibrated it should do a much better job controlling the traction on high HP cars than the factory unit that was designed to work with OEM horsepower levels and is useless on modified high HP cars.
I hope it works like some users have told me including some C6 Z06 users. WE will see soon.
p.s. It gets old passing people at 60mph as you're going side ways. But sometimes the look on their face is worth it..
Please keep us up to date on this install, I'm very interested and personally think this is about the only way high hp cars can continue to be viable without slicks and a very, very built drive train.
It sounds like a great product and an awesome idea but it almost seems to good to be true. The twin turbo guys should really be all over this with the insane amount of power they get instantly. The first guy to get the aps TT installed by lapd lives about a block from me and couldn't get traction until about 60mph and was actually slower on the 60' (lack of skill, I have the same problem)
Install pictures for the more timid among us (me) would be great also
.......Here's a video I took today with about 400 miles on my new motor.
You can see why I need some traction control. The bikers behind me in the video decided they did not want to play around after our run in on the expressway.
btw: why the flashing gauges during the first part?
They are not flashing when I am driving. The camera captures them that way in daylight conditions for some reason.
At night, as you noticed it captures fine, and they don't flash in the video...

Isn't part of the art of driving being conscious of how to manipulate the throttle to achieve the best acceleration without having your tires go up in smoke?

Yes, but skill-less drivers like myself want to have fun too!

With 500hp or 600 hp it's fun to do that but with close to 1000hp , good luck easing on the throttle from a dead stop .
