i was just wondering do anybody have any idea why in the hell my traction control comes while i am rolling. it usually shuts down my car when i am trying to speed up and change lanes on the freeway at a normal pace... i now have to drive with my car in competive mode.
Sounds like a problem with the system. I had it on my C5 and now on my C6, and I can count one one hand the number of times its actually come on. It was appropriate each time.
You probably have a bad sensor somewhere. I'm very suprised that you haven't seen any error codes. Most of the systems on the Corvette have very good diagnostic capabilities and you usually see an error code before you even experience problems.
Instead of driving in Competitive Mode perhaps try driving with TC off (this will still allow full AH). Bottom line...you have a problem. I suggest you take it to the dealership ASAP.

or maybe you're pulling too many Gs with your lane changes.
It usually happens going less than 15 MPH turning left or right or making a U-turn. The cars brakes will LOCK UP and I will have to pull off the road very sluggishly and shut it down or turn the traction control completly off. If I don't shut it down the traction control light stays on and I get "service traction control system". I have taken mine to the dealer several time and they say nothing is wrong because the errors are not being stored. Usually the next time I start it up the error message is gone. I have even taken a tech from the dealer for a ride to try to get it to lock up but you know how that goes.....Anyones thoughts???
Changing tire size will affect the Electronic Traction Control and the Active Handling.
The computor in the car reads tire speed via the ABS sensors and depends on STOCK (smaller front, larger rear) wheel/tire diameters for accuracy.
Stock fronts are 25.71" diameter, stock rears are 26.85". If you change the relationship of Front to Rear diameters you confuse the computor. There is some margin for difference but nobody has ever posted the tolerances.
If the traction control is off, but there is still ah....what is comp driving mode??
I was under the impression that traction off was everything off?
