Default Corvette shops in Az.

I have been looking for a shop in Phoenix to do some mods on my C6 and I haven't found anything online. I found a shop in Ga. called MTI racing that has a stage II package that I would love but I don't want to ship. Does anyone here know of a reputable shop in Az. that can come close to this package for the price?

You might try AZ Power and Sound in Tempe, Mike has good prices and Great Reputation.

Personal experience would not go back to Xtreme as they do not warranty perfomance parts as they are used for racing??? per Dave the owner...P.S. this was for a NEW diffentrial (c-5) that was just barely broken in had not been raced and was leaking. (they installed the unit)

Apparently it's just luck of the draw, but I do know what I see at Firebird.

There is a LS1 GTO that shows up regularly. He was running high 13's, and took his car to AZ Power and Sound, and they did several thousand dollars worth of work, including a cam, headers, and exhaust.

He showed up to the track with both before and after dyno sheets. They showed him picking up 100 rwhp (~300 to ~400). However, he only managed 3 tenths better in the 1/4. 13.6 or so.

CBR can probably chime in here with the exact numbers. I just remember the GTO owner being incredibly pissed.

I actually thought Xtreme had the better reputation from speaking to guys at the track, and LG even recommended them for installing his headers. But it looks like you can have a bad experience with anybody.

Thats because people pay too much attention to peak horsepower. Could have gained some peak horsepower, but lost it throughout the range.

So far Xtreme has been great to me, if my car isn't a supercar when they are done I will be amazed. They are doing it for me for a great deal, and have been awesome service so far..

Except in first gear where you are limited by traction anyway, there isn't much of a rev range at the drag strip (~4500-6500). Peak hp is what you want.

He took his car to AZ P&S, so hopefully Xtreme works out for you. What all are you having done?

There is going to be a dyno day at AZ Dyno Chip on Aug 18th. It would be interesting to compare results between two different dynos.

Agree 100% Works on every car like it his own. Give him a call and you will find it is more about what you want out of the car than where her makes the most profit. Personally, I've done heads, cam, FAST, and exhaust and managed 400 rwhp on an A6 with Air temps at 116 degrees outside. I wanted faster strip times instead of high HP and after answering about a billion questions we decided on the current setup. As a bonus, I've had it back 2 or three times trying (at no cost) different exhaust setups. Mike wants the car how I want it and will keep trying till I'm happy with the resonance issue.

Also, here is a no-frills local club you might want to check for other recommendations.

Doesn't AP & S use the same tuner as XTreme?

So I have heard. Nick D is the name that I've been told. AZ Dyno Chip, the place where the dyno day is, uses the same guy.

We have not had good results at Firebird with tuning. There are two A6's that show up regularly Friday nights, both with intakes and LG headers. One is tuned and one isn't.

The one that was tuned consistently lags behind the non-tuned car by 4-5 tenths.

Depending upon the extent of your planned modifications (if they're extensive enough), it might just be worth going with a known commodity. I found it well worth the effort to make a long one day drive to 21st Century Muscle Cars in Dallas (a Lingenfelter installer). IMO it pays to go with the best.

My 05 C6 auto didn't pull many more horses after the tune, but I went from 13.1 to 12.7s at Firebird. That with only GHL and Haltech. It pulled waaaaay harder - guess it was TM, or the absence of it.

I gave them a call and they sound cool. What are you getting to the rear wheel?

Who did your tune? I wonder why the A6's didn't have good results.

We won't trust anyone except XMS Engineering (aka Xtreme Motorsports) to do any performance work on our Vettes. We've done tuning, cams, heads, exhaust, etc. on three C5/C6 Z06s there and won't go anywhere else. Call Darrell at 480-517-4969.

You are welcome to come by anytime m-f we are open Id be happy to show you around or help you with anything you might need. As far as tuners we use Nic and also one of our techs Cody will do some from time to time but about 98% of the time its Nic.

Warranty wise anything that we are a distributer we also carry their warranty. So if there is a part issue its covered buy the manufacturer for a certain time.

Here in phx you have some of the best Corvette shops so no reason to go to far!

XMS is a First Rate shop in my opinion.

They just finished putting an LS2/427, RPM transmission, and RPM differential in my C5, along with big brakes and a Ron Davis radiator.

Nick tuned her up, and we got 503 RWHP on a hot, hot day.

This was my first experience with Xtreme, and I was treated as a customer should be. The quality of the work is excellent, it was done quickly, and at a very reasonable price.

Thank you Darrell, Cody, Jason, Nick & anyone else on the XMS team that worked on my car!

I would question your statement regarding warranty.
From personal experience you (XMS) would not cover a leaking seal on a brand new differential purchased from your shop and installed at your shop.
This on a C-5 with just bolt-ons. Blackwing, exhaust and gears 3.73 so nothing major as far as HP and I was still breaking the unit in.
The differential was just broken in with about 500 miles. The statement from DAVE we don't warranty race parts????

This told me he is a questionable person. As far as dealing with you Jason I have no issues. However, Dave is the owner.
