Here is the set-up I am running on my '05 Z-51 manual.
I installed a Z06 rear leaf spring, C5 Hotchkis front and rear sway bars (huge) - and yes, they do fit, and Bilstein shocks.
The ride is so much more refined and solid. The shocks are certainly better and the increased stiffness with the spring/sway bars provide a very solid and confident feel.
I exhibit no over nor under steer and consider the handling near neutral.
Also, still running the stock tires with no adverse affects.
OK, everyone here with a base or F55 suspension that has raced with the stock, Z51 and Z06 swaybars, all on the same car, raise your hand.
If you haven't done this yourself and you're just repeating what you read elsewhere, you're not doing anyone any favors. If you have first hand knowledge of upgrading the base or F55 suspension to the Z51 swaybars, please tell us how it handles when you push hard in a turn.
Go with the Z06, also I suggest going with the Z06 springs and Z06 shocks. Turned out well. Still not where I want it, thinking of going T1, but most people would hate the stiffness of the ride I am looking for.
