WOW! I just re-visited this thread after a loooong time....u people need to understand that u do not drive junk....proper parts of good quality are MANDATORY.....unless u like running around chasing your tail
What does this have to do with the "Hot Engine Air Conditioning Off" Message appearing as soon as you start the car up in the AM? Also while driving, the gauge ocassionally jumps up into the red and right bwack down to being dead triggering the "Check Coolant Level", "Coolant Over Temperature" & "Change Engine Oil" Messages even though all is physically fine with the temps and coolant levels? The only thing not happening is the A/C!!
Is it stock or have you added a 160 thermostat? With stock tuning and a 160 some cars get this message but the code is for engine undertemp.
Thats correct Disconnect the battery for an hour let the computer clear the problem should stop
I went through this before myself
the computer is getting conflicting info.
Each time you make a change disconnect the batttery

As the originator of this long thread, I can tell you I went through the process of disconnecting the battery for a few minutes ... several times. This was not the permanent fix. If you have installed a 160 t'stat recently, it is likely a warning the computer throws when the engine does not warm up at the expected rate. The only way I could get this resolved, permanently, was to have my local tuner (CoW) change a parameter in the computer so it NEVER gives a low temp warning. (Given where I live in the country, plus global warming, I will never see a real world condition where that warning is relevant).
If you did not make any mods and are getting the message, I would then take it to the dealer as it may not be the same reason for the message.
I do have mods but it is odd that this condition disables the entire coolant temperature gauge altogether and creates a Hot engine message when in actuality it cannnot heat up to the proper temperature. Yesterday it began flipping out altogether with buzzes and chimes. This is the third time for this issue and I am losing my patience.

EVERYONE PLEASE REMEMBER! The #1 cause for this problem is installing modified stats or SMALL BLOCK CHEVY stats in place of the proper 2 stage LS2 type stat.
Trying to save money in this department is a bad idea....
