Default Ceramic coated LG Pro headers

Does anyone know what it costs to ceramic coat the LG headers? Any issues with ceramic coating the LG's? I read where a few people on here did that.

I think I paid almost $400.00 to have my LGM long tubes coated. That might be a bit on the high side though, if you take them in to be coated yourself, it would probably be less.

I sanded down the mating surfaces to help with install / removal. The coating looks good, but scratches easily.

LO-KO in Chicago
$285 per set with a coating equal to Jet-Hot Sterling but a little brighter. Melrose uses LO-KO on their headers.

No coating gets rid of the heat better.

LGs are stainless steel and they do not require coating like steel or aluminized steel. - my 2c

I'm no expert but Swain Tech in SW NY state does a great thermal coating.

I had mine coated locally. IIRC, you want to keep the heat in the header to maximize gas velocity. Here's a picture of mine

I had mine coated with Jet-Hot Extreme Sterling. I am completely satisfied.

I would not even consider headers not coated with jethot. It is a no brainer for the cost.

Personally I did not have my own headers coated on my '06 Z51. With the 304 Stainless there is not as much of a need to do so like the old mild steel Hooker headers of the past. 304 S.S. is never going to rust and does a much better job of retaining the heat of mild steel. If you want to have a chrome look, or even a custom color, then coating is the only way to go and keep them that way for years to come. We offer Jet-Hot coatings here and will have them coated to your order in any color that you would like.

Call or email for detail on any color that you would like!

How do you get that awesome bluing look on uncoated headers? I love that but mine just have like a goldish look.

Absolutely The Jet Hot Sterling coating look absolutely terrific and keep the heat down a bit in the engine compartment and into the cats where it should be.

Default coating

i was told by a tuner that the ceramic coated headers have a tendency to cause detonation b/c the heat cant dissipate in the exhaust...not to sure if its true...but stayed away from it. My lg's are already stainless and should hold up for awhile anyway. However they sure look nice w/the coating...
