I understand that there are estimated conversions out there, but they're always off by .1-.2 at least, which is a world of difference when running low 11s. For comparison, my 7.30 1/8th shows 11.39 on the conversion and I went 11.29. Looking at a few other slips on a few pages showed consistantly around .15-.2 difference.

I was more laughing that you were talking about the rules of the track and were insinuating running 1/4 mile times while talking about an 1/8 mile track.

I can set my watch in my car by the second 660 taking about 4 seconds and 30 mph (barring missing a gear or something).

I love 1/8 mile racing, if you can cut a lite and get your car to hook up you can beat the faster car. Give me a guy with a heavy Mod car on street tires and I will call him out. My C4 will stick like glue and I always have a 150hp shot ready just in case. I have not raced my C6 at the track, I doubt it does very well with the factory tires. Can you get a C6 to hook up with some Nitto drag radials?

Yep. My car dead hooks on 275 555Rs.

I've only been able to run it a few times since the converter went in and went 1.70s with 0 wheel spin. Need to get more seat time and adjust pressure a bit higher so I can dip it down into the 1.6s

How does the rear end like the abuse? I am making 455 at the rear wheel what is the magic number when things start to break?

Nittos are typically the worst when it comes to traction in a car that's making any kind of decent horsepower.

Go with Hoosiers and you too will be able to this:

That's all fine and good, but Nittos are still good to for deep 60s with enough power behind them and are great for driving too and from the track.

Hoosiers huge advantage is their weight, and yes, they will take it the next step.

450rwhp is definitely not overpowering for 555Rs though. Just takes some heat to get them tacky.

bragging aside...

I'd say based on reading of the forum & talking to other racer buddies:

Nittos - best for daily driving and wear, ok for strip on automatics, not manuals.

M/T's - great on strip, marginal on daily driving, not great in the rain after they have some time and runs on them. Decent life, not as long as Nittos.

Hoosiers - best for strip. can't really drive on the street if there is ANY chance of rain as they have no siping. Short lived. Lightest.

Frank "Evilways" warming up for another 11 second pass

Please see page 1 post # 6 for instructions & rules. In order to be placed on the list I need a complete timeslip & completed template in your post per the example.

THE LIST

Regarding correction factors:
Times are received from all over the country and are not corrected. Because track and weather conditions vary, this list ranking does not, and can not, identify the fastest cars or drivers in any particular order. It only lists the recorded times, regardless of conditions, in order from quickest to slowest. In cases where ET is the same, the higher MPH determines list order. The bold numbers refer to the post number utilized to report the elapsed times in this thread.

Not much of a drag racer but FWIW I ran a 10.372 @ 143.19 with a horrible 1.9 60' on a bone stock LS2 stock bottom, stock heads and stock cam (with the exception of dual valve springs and hardened pushrods) at 15.5 lbs of boost with TTiX kit and 19" NT05R drag radials in 100% street trim (including almost full tank of gas, full audio equipment: amplifiers, subwoofer box and Caravaggio interior with heavy Daytona Driver and Passenger Seats) with full weight. I have made a couple changes to the tune (adjusted shift points and leaned it out some it was dipping into 9.8 AFR's in 3rd gear) and hoping to hit the track with a drag pack, suspension adjusted and 1/4 tank of fuel

This was basically a test and tune (made 3 runs before getting the boot) to see what the car was capable of in 100% street trim.

More info in this thread.

1. Your entire profile completed:

Yes

2. A copy of your entire time slip posted to the thread with date & track info:

Yes

3. The complete the details of your pass using this template in your post:

Yes

4. Year Corvette:

2005 LS2

5. Type of Trans:

A4

6. Type of Suspension:

Z51 springs and sway bars Pfadt adjustable shocks

7. Stock Performance options:

Z51

8. Tires utilized:

345/30/19" Nitto NT05R rear and 275/35/18 Nitto Invo fronts on Replica Z06 wheels 19X12 rear and 18X9.5 Fronts

9. Modifications:

Stock 40k miles LS2 (heads, cam and bottom end)
TTiX Twin Turbo Kit
Eboost Street Boost Controller with dual solenoids (15.5 lbs of boost in kill mode)
ECS dual nozzle alky kit
Z06 fuel pump with KB BAP and Racetronics harness
RPM Level VII transmission
3200 single disk stall converter
RPM built Z06 3.42 differential
C5 rear axles

10. Dyno numbers:

Do not have current dyno numbers. At the time of initial tuning car made 669rwhp/640rwt on Mustang dyno on max boost of 13lbs on 2 bar SD tune. It was decided to finish tuning after logging street miles and to swap to 2.5 Bar MAP sensor and data based on logs from the drag strip. 10.3@143 run was on 15.5 lbs of boost with unfinished tuning. Car today is running 16.8 lbs of boost with lots of changes to the tune which I believe is now max effort. If I were to speculate, my guess would be in high 700's rwhp and mid 700s rwt on a Dyno Jet machine. I personally don't believe in dyno numbers as there are a LOT of factors to consider.

11. As much info you may want to add about the run, launch techniques, tire air pressure & etc:

Made 3 passes before getting the boot. The fastest was 10.372. It had rained the night before and the track was not prepped the best. I could not get the car to 60' better than 1.9 for the life of me. I tried leaving the line on idle and with foot braking but blew the tires off the line no matter what I tried. The video below proves that. This run was a soft launch. You can hear the tires blowing away and the car getting sideways before I lifted. It ran a 11.220 @ 140.16 with 1.987 60'.

1 @ 11.220 @ 140.16 (30psi in front and rear tires)
1 @ 10.561 @ 142.68 (21 psi in rear and 30 in front tires)
1 @ 10.372 @ 143.19 (21 psi in rear and 30 in front tires)

All the above runs were with 1.9 60'

12. Typed in the post (as some time slips get deleted & etc after being posted)

___ Name of the Track: Oahe Speedway
___ Date of the pass & weather conditions: 05/15/11 71*
___ R/T............ .297

Wow!! If you don't mind, how much did the kit cost you and where did you purchase it? Congatulations on your run, but how long do you think your motor will hold up?

Default Mistake!!!! NO NPP EXHAUST on my GS.

In the "bolt on" Grand Sport listing you have my car listed as having the NPP exhaust and it does not; just the home made CAI. Thanks Tommy D.

I have another suggestion, drop the "GS" (Grand Sport) in the "bolt on" listing because it's "already" in the headline.
You did not use "GS" in the Showroom Stock Grand Sport listing because it's "already" in the headline.
