Default FAST intake question

I'm getting Cam and Clutch done on Wednesday-already looking down the road to an intake-my question is will a retune be required if I switch to a FAST intake from the stocker?

TIA

Yes it will have to be tuned with a Fast or even a ported stock intake.

I think your '05 would've come from the factory with a 90mm TB.

If you order the fast, you need the Fast Intake 90.

I would also like to get a fast intake with a cam also. What kind of HP increase can I expect to get with a good streetable cam/fast intake?

The reason i'm asking is because of the new article in Hot Rod (engines), they got 19 flywheel horsepower from a FAST intake swap from stock.

LG has a 90mm tb available too. Comes with harness for around 500 bucks.

All results above are dyno numbers.

Weiand is coming out with a new plastic version of its LS series Cast Aluminum intake this March that may be better than the Fast intake for a stock LS2.

Will you get that much gain going to a fast intake after your mods?

But that's what they're trying to say above, you do not need to buy an aftermarket 90mm throttle body, your car already came with one. Just mount it up to the Fast 90mm intake.
You may choose to port your stock TB though, that can help a little bit.

Yea, I guess I mis-spoke myself, I meant to say ported. I was wondering from you guys that have the FAST if you gained that much HP from the swap.

Sad, isn't it-haven't got the cam in yet and already looking at the next mod!

It's funny that he said that! His profile say's ' Tuner Shop Owner '

Anyway I have my 05 cammed with the Fast 90, great combo, the Fast 90 will give some nice torque in the mid range, and even more with the cam.

Nah, according to other posts he's not a shop owner, he's an independently wealthy 17 year old that owns LS2s, LS3s, Z06s and properties all over southern California yet never took a dime from his parents for any of it LOL.

Wow, they're saying that much? I've read a little bit about it over there as well and knew that it could show plenty of gains over stock but didn't know it excelled that much over the FAST in some areas. And it'll be a little cheaper too.
Nice.

Nice.
Im holding off on buying the FAST till I get some dyno results on the
new wieand . Its hard to believe 15 HP/TQ over the FAST. Then we must consider the aspect of one ported unit over another. I had a thread going "Ported OEM VS Ported FAST" My tuner figures at least
10 for the fast over the oem ( BOTH PORTED ).

It is possible I guess but I would want to see some in depth testing of a true production unit on a C6 before passing any further judgement.

Yes, I think it would be at least that much between the two. There are of course other various benefits to choosing either route as well.
