Are those the right wheel studs for a C6, which ones do I want to get? Trying to mount wheels over my brembo brakes. Need to put on a 1/2" spacer on the front to make them work. Whats the stock length of the studs?
NAPA I got mine for $1.10 each a few years ago. When you get the new ARP studs in take one over to a NAPA store and tell them you want hardened lug nuts. Open ended .
If you dont get hardened lug nuts, then those Stock lug nuts MAY lossen or strip on the ARP studs.

Ah great thats good to know, and I can get them local!
I have a slight variation of the same question. I have a StopTech 4-wheel Trophy BBK and I want to use stock "Gumby" wheels. With 1/8" Pfadt spacers in front, the wheels clear the brakes and there is plenty of engagement on the stock length studs to be safe. However, the rear kit requires 1/4" spacers and that does NOT work with the stock studs.
So, can anyone tell me the length of the stock studs and if anyone makes aftermarket studs that are 1/4" longer. (Or 6-7mm longer, if the stud market speaks metric.)
So, this works in front:
but this does not work in back unless I install longer studs:
If only the 1/8" spacers had worked in the rear, I would be such a happy camper right now! But no such luck.
By the way, nobody should assume that a "regular" StopTech 14" ST-60 front kit will work with Gumby wheels and 1/8" spacers. The StopTech Trophy calipers have extra material removed, and some of it is in exactly the right place to help with Gumby wheel fitment.
Here is the reason I want to keep using the stock acorn wheel nuts:
Will the stock acorn nuts fit over those studs, when used with a 1/4" spacer?
Since I didn't get an answer that that question, I went to the local Chevy dealer and picked up a single OEM stud to baseline what was already on the car, without having to pull any parts off the car.
Confirmed that stock is M12 x 1.5mm. The dealer said the part description stated 46mm length, which is 4mm less than the 50mm I measured. So that means they must not be counting the head, which is approximately 4mm thick. But they ARE counting the unthreaded 6mm portion at the tip. Interesting.
Now I just need to find a replacement that's about 57mm long (end to end), which will work with my 1/4" thick Pfadt spacers and allow me to continue using my stock acorn nuts. I'm not sure how much extra room is under the cap of the acorn nut. It's possible a 1/2" longer bolt may work, but it's also possible the acorn nut will bottom out.
I recently installed AP Racing Brakes (thanks to Randy at DRM). I was using the 2.5" studs but I'm changing to the longer 3.25" studs. Others tell me as long as you have 6 or 7 full revolutions of the lug nut on the stud you're fine (which I've done for years without a problem), however, after shearing a stud trying to budge a frozen lug nut this past week I went ahead and ordered the longer studs. The longer studs may look a little funky with my street wheels but I don't drive on the street much anyway. Besides, I feel better with the lug nuts fully threaded onto the studs.

I hear you. Whatever solution I ultimately adopt will allow the stock acorn nuts to fully engage their threaded portion on the stud. I plan to track this car from time to time, so I have no interest in compromising the structural integrity of the rotating assemblies! If I'm lucky, I'll find an aftermarket (or GM stud from a different model) that's exactly the same design as stock, but 1/4" longer. Will report back.
I installed the DRM 1/2" longer studs and they work with the OEM acorn nuts even without spacers on my OEM C6 wheels and my O.E. C6 Z06 wheels.
Excellent! Thanks. That's good to know.
I installed the longer studs in the rear and today finished up the StopTech BBK installation. Brakes are all bedded in and everything works like a champ. Here are some pictures:

StopTech brakes and spacer installed
All done!

The brakes feel great. I'm a happy camper. Thanks all for the help with the studs.
