Thanks. I guess I am going to have to get it done as well. Does it void the warranty?
Plenty of threads on this, but it may & if that is a concern don't improve the car...leave it as GM delivered it. As far as will it hurt the tranny? Just the opposite, since the built in "comfort slippage" is reduced the clutches last far longer, and since the line pressure is slightly bumped it also helps reduce wear.
It has to be a personal choice......fear of GM warranty issues or enjoying the car to the fullest. Good luck either way you go.
Yeah the paddles suck...they are too unresponsive. The lag in up and downshifts is unbearable if you want to REALLY do performance driving in the corners.
Even with a tune it is still sub-par.
Getting a manual is the only way to have fun shifting a car...I regret not getting a manual
You fellas have any symptoms when upshifting and the engine pops?Plus when I take the tach to 5000 rpm and upshift it seems to stall. Anyone know if i'm doing something wrong????

I agree that paddles arent that good. in my opinion, last week I ran the paddles in the 1/4 and only got 97 MPH. Shifting was weak, slow, and seemed to pause for a bit before kicking in. I should have went with a Manual myself. Now that being said and already owning an auto with paddles does anyone know if there is a way to lessen the pause time or make the shifting more responsive, or atleast competitive to a manual?

Read the post above yours....for $99 we turn it into a totally differnt acting tranny. Just start a thread & ask about the RevXtreme A6 tune....there are other tuners that have it down as well.
HAs anyone noticed that when you accelerate to redline and upshift to the next gear, the engine revs up beyond the redline and bogs down. Has this happen to anyone?
Unfortunately, there isn't any good corvette mechanics I know in O.C.
