If it was something mechanical like a cracked piston, you would have heard knocking noises. If it's a broken ring, you might be just sucking oil into one cylinder. Pull the plugs and see if all of them have oil on them or just one. If it's all of them, it might be something simple like a PCV valve. It would be very unusual for a broken ring/cracked piston keeping the engine from starting. We'll hope it's something simple and easy to fix...unless you're just looking for an excuse to upgrade.

This was my first thought. I don't know what your setup is but if it was smoking but still running and not making all sorts of bad sounds it may not be that bad. What supercharger do you have? Don't they have their own oil line? If so could it have leaked internally somehow? I'd start by pulling the plugs and doing a compression check. That should answer many questions.

I've got a ProCharger which is self contained. Engine no longer runs.
