Whats causing this phenomenom? I have it on my passenger side but not on driver side. Thought it might be protective film I had on lens but it does not seem to be the cause...
And what is the replacement cost for one of these lense assemblies?

Yup, it does seem to be the cause Plenty of people on this forum have reported what you are seeing because ofheadlight films.
Expect to pay $800 to $1000+ for a replacement

Heat is the main cause of crazing. The sun beating down on the Lexan/acrylic is bad enough but if somebody pushed on the lens while that hot it would look like a spider web.
I am out now but have a few assemblies to take apart and should have a couple of good lens to sell.
I just noticed my '07 passenger side doing this, no film on them and only 4800 miles. They started small, got bigger, then more and more were showing up. Took to dealer, waiting to here back - while searching around on the forum I found a tsb #4624 - FINE CRACKS OR CRAZING ON HEAD LAMP LENS. *NJ

We will see what happens.....
Well I went by the dealer today (took by there yesterday to have it looked at) and he had already ordered the replacement part and will call when it comes in to install it - needless to say I had a print-out of the TSB with me in case it slipped his mind. Good dealer in my book...
Update:
Got the headlight replaced, had the oil changed as well and the dealer (Hanlees in Davis, Ca) left my car a mess - oily hand prints everywhere inside the car on the door panel and handle, on the hood, etc. Called them on it right away, they had me bring the car back in for a full detail. Got the car back looking showroom new - very nice, I would just like to say that they were outstanding in the way they handled this matter. Thank You Hanlees
