any problems with your c6's?

I've had exactly ONE problem with my car: My clutch return spring broke. I drove it like that for 2 weeks with a slightly stiffer clutch pedal, then I took it to the dealership and they fixed it for free.
Any car can brake, and all cars will eventually brake. The '05s have a few more issues than later Covettes but in general Corvettes are very reliable car; I had an Audi A4 and that car broke down in ways I didn't even know were possible; it eventualy prompted me to sell it and keep driving my C6 as a year round daily driver, even in snow

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I should trade it in for that V.W. bug I saw last week. It was yellow to!

Your friends don't know what they're talking about.

+ elevnentybillion.
Odds are, your friends were the PROBLEM and the cars were the victim(s). There are not NEARLY enough issues - even issues caused by mods, more power and track abuse by private individuals - in 05's or any C6 to correlate to the degree of "issues" your friends had with three vehicles (or the same vehicles repaired over time).
My guess is either they're exaggerating and telling you that they have huge e-penises in the same breath, or they're incompetent to the level of neglecting vehicles to the point of failure.
Statistically speaking, I would wager that the corvette has, on average, exceptionally high levels of consumer satisfaction, durability and lifespan... and doing it all against a higher bar of expectation that many of its competitors. My personal experiences have all been positive - we picked up a C4 (OMG!!!) in the mid 80's and drove the **** out of it for more than 20 years. The only "failure" outside of normal maintenance was when the original transmission went out 22 years after the car was made!!! And THAT was caused by the internal oil cooler (in the radiator) corroding through and leaking antifreeze into the transmission oil return line!!! We put over 200,000 "hard" miles on that 84 and the radiator finally corroded through: otherwise the "weak" 3.07 differential and "prone to failure" 700R4 transmission (that I even towed with) would have probably made it to 25 years of service. That's freaking quality right there.
You ought to be asking yourself "I can by a world-class SPORTSCAR for $29K - that means I saved $15K that will be left over for mods, tires, bills when looking at a comparable vehicle."
But if you're looking at a "Type R" Honda or something... well, just go ahead and get the honda.
Now what Vette were you looking at for $29K? Got a link?
