I can't believe no one said it, but with $2k, I would definitely do gears first. Nothing is going to give you the sotp feel and more bang for that buck than gears. What else do you have planned? If you dont have a ton of mods planned and arent going to get gigantic power for the 1/4 mile the gears will never go to waste.

Gears feel good but will not add much in the 1/4.

I noticed a couple Z06 complete exhausts in C6 parts for around $750 shipped, and they may negotiate. SpinFAST 90 with shipping is gonna cost around $900, he would port your throttle body for around $100 I believe. The tune will cost you $400 to $600 depending on where you take it. So it all depends on how much you pay for that Z06 exhaust system (manifolds, cats,H pipe) if you can get in right at $2k.. you might be over a couple hundred.

Go with used parts from the parts section!!! You'll save so much money and get the same thing. Most Vette owners(as we all know) are meticulious with their cars. Get some headers, a tune and a cat back exhaust for your $2k with mabey enough left over to find a ported TB and intake if you look hard.
Here I did the work for you, it took 5 minutes
Ported TB :http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-p...-for-sale.html
Headers|:http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-p...pipe-3-x3.html
Z06 axelback:http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-p...axle-back.html
ported intake:http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-p...ater-pump.html
Done.... $2010.00 and remember everything is negotiable

Bulldog I would go with some LG or Kooks Longtubes, whatever you can find a better deal on some cutouts and a tune...
I dont have dyno #'s yet.. but its excatly what I did. I got some Kooks 1 7/8 longtubes a 3inch x-pipe all the way back with some QTP cut outs with my stock mufflers. And a tune all for $1800 out the door! I install the longtubes and x-pipe since they are not hard at all. I am sure if you go to a shop LG motorsports or Corvettes of Dallas they will hook you up. I my self love cutouts! I would not mess around with porting stuff.

These headers:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-p...group-buy.html

A ported FAST 92mm and a tune, maybe pickup a used CAI.

You would be looking at a 50 plus rwhp gain atleast.

To the OP. Do a set of Texas Speed headers. You can get there ceramic coated set with x pipe for about $800 bucks. Pick up a Spinmonster FAST92. That will put you right about $2k. Install it yourself (its all pretty basic stuff) and save for the tune. With that setup and tune, you will gain a sold 50rwhp!

How long can I run the car w/o a tune and catless LTS? I already have a Vararam so what do you think would be my total HP? Hopfully around 490 RWHP?

Don't run without a tune. Just hold on to the parts until you save back up for the tune. Then install everything and take it for a tune. Not sure where you got the 490rwhp number? Definately optimistic there. But a sold 50rwhp should be in range easily.

If you're close to LG Motor sports , my $2,000 would be spent on LG Long tube pros and a tune.. When more money becomes available I'd then do gears and a spinfast intake. Good luck with your choice

IF I was working within a $2k budget contraint I'd opt for a set of the "off shore" manufactured headers and x-pipe (install them myself) $700.00, I'd send my TB and manifold to Spin for a port job ($300.00), I'd also put in a $25.00 160 thermostat. I'd polish it off with a trip to my nearest reputable tuner for a solid dyno tune $350-$500.

This would be a good solid starting point. You'd have to get past the fact that you'll be running headers manufactured in "***** Khu, China" or somewhere like that. Feedback on the forum has indicated that the build quality is "pretty good" on these pirated copies of U.S. designed headers.
