I had my fair share of work done by a 'home mechanic' while in college and it all worked out pretty well (had to fix some minor screw ups). Now that I do all of my own work I get multiple requests to do jobs for people, and I turn them down every time because it's not worth the couple extra bucks to be stuck in this situation.
Cam install carries risk. I locked the motor up back in he day on
my 95 z-28 after installing the cam first time myself. Then I read many stories similar to mine on Camaroz28 board. I don't see how one can guarantee a succesfull cam install?
It’s funny how the car runs 2000 miles and no problems besides a sensor left unplugged and a uptight ground with perfect oil pressure to the oil pressure being at 15 psi to the car not even making 130 miles.
The oil pressure was not 15psi when you left. The only reason you noted it was that low in the end was because the DIC showed it and made a noise. You could not even tell me what the coolant temp was when you pulled over to the side of the road. You guessed it at 220.
How do you know the oil pressure wasn’t at 15 PSI you didn’t check it after you put the car back together I’m the one who started it and drove off. SO PLZ tell me how you would know.
Because A) you never asked me about it (because you asked way too many questions for a person who is not car inclined) B) when it showed up you ASKED what it was and then asked if it was normal or what the deal was. Good enough? Plus I did get into your car when it was started the last time, the oil pressure was fine. I did do some final tuning on it in case you forgot.
I am sure that you beating on it and going over 100mph on the way home sure did not help either.
Gectek pulled it apart to see what happened and found no fault with his work.
The dealer pulled it apart and found no fault with their work.
You know what the difference is?
-Almost every member in this thread agrees that the dealer did an insufficient job fixing the hydrolock and agrees that it most likely contributed to the death of your engine.
-One of the most knowledgeable and well known builders and installers in the LSX world said that it was most likely due to the hydrolock and that this would have happened NO MATTER WHO DID THE CAM INSTALL.
You can keep pushing it all you want, but the fact is that the majority of people in the know agree that you are wrong for pushing this off on Gectek because there was too large of a chance that the previous work that was at fault. You were even given an in depth explanation as to why it would run well for all of those miles and that the cam install sped up the engine's inevitable death. You are choosing to ignore the overwhelming chance that it was not caused by Gectek because you are a piece of trash that wants to make someone else pay for your troubles.
You keep telling Gectek to "make it right." Here is an idea, it's not right to make someone else pay for something when it may not have been their fault. You should "make it right" by giving up these little kid games of posts filled with the teenage angst that you and your "builder" (yeah, we locals know who he really is) are harboring.
Neither you nor your "builder" have any credibility here based on things you have already said in this thread. You have been proven a liar multiple times, and your "builder" is so smart that he posted that he has the service manager or the dealer in question in his back pocket. He was smooth enough to edit it out 4 minutes later, but thanks to the guy under him it was quoted and is still here as evidence. Thanks to him posting that and the fact that this dealer has it in their best interest to push it off on the guy after them (can't blame them, it might not have been their fault) you don't have a leg to stand on.
Gectek has very valuable people in the LSX world who say it can not be put solely on him and has also provided pictures and reasoning to support his side. You have an angry fake builder who talks so much **** that he has yet to make any room in his posts for facts, and a dealer denying they did wrong in order to avoid paying to fix it even though everyone with a brain knows they didn't do a sufficient job fixing the hydrolock. You are screwed. Man up and fix your engine and stop being a baby on a forum trying to get something for free when you don't deserve it.
