Yesterday the check engine lite came on in my 2010. Check with guage and it shows 1 fault but not the reason for the fault. gauge advises code information N/A. Erase code and engine lite comes on as soon as I restart car. Performance does not seem to be down.
Have made a couple of mods on car and want to know if they will cancel warranty if I don't remove them before I return to dealer. The mods are, Mild to Wild, PCV oil can, and Skip shift bypass. Any ideas with these mods?
They don't void your whole warranty due to a single mod. They would only void the warranty for parts that could be affected by that mod. Mild to Wild will not cause a CEL. The catch can could if it isn't connected correctly as could the skip shift. A CEL indicates a code somewhere in the powertrain.
Get your self a nice aftermarket Code reader. Get an advanced one that can datalog. I purchased an ACTRON CP 9180. Its a very good scanner that works with the C6 CAN Buss and provideds real time sensor data. It was only $130 on the internet (amazon.com). Note! Unless you spend a LOT of money on a scanner, most that you get will not read all the BODY DTCs
Your own scanner will save you a LOT of time and cash.
