Just picked up a set of used long tubes and xpipe from a burned out 2008 corvette. Guy thought they were factory headers, but obviously not. Couldn't pass the up as they literally were dirt cheap.
Anyway, one primary is dented pretty bad, you can see from the picture, would you have it repaired? If so, who does this kind of work? I called a local muffler shop and he said they'd never done that before...
Also, what else would I need to make this set whole? The rear O2's were cut, but the front O2 sensors are there, it does have all the clamps, but nothing else...

Can't see all of it, but it sure looks like one of our 1 3/4 headers.
I would probably pull it out. You can do a few things to fix it. You can cut that section out and weld in a new piece. TIG weld would be preferred. Make sure they know how to weld stainless, more specifically 304.
The minor scrapes on the bottom I would not worry about it.
Should have extensions with it as well. Let me know if you need anything or help with them. You can find install instructions on our home page, at the Instructions tab at the top.

Do you have a recommended person to "pull" the dent out or cut/reweld? I don't want to take it to a random muffler shop that's never done it before....
I don't need rear O2 sensors right? Can't you tune the rear O2's out using HP tuners?
Does your shop have O2 extensions? I may just come by and have you guys do the install as I'm local.
Most body shops have a stud welder that they can use to spot weld on studs used with a dent puller and then heat the area and pop that dent to near flush. I wouldnt worry much about a little deformation once the dent is out. It will NOT matter.
If it were me, I'd ignore it. I'm really doubtful that you are losing any hp with that dent. At least not measurable.
Unless you are racing the car, you won't notice the difference at all. However, I had a similar dent in one of my LG headers due to an "off track excursion" I had my local fabricator cut the piece out, reshape it and then weld it back in. No problemo!
Honestly, I think it wouldn't lose any measurable performance either, however it's almost jus the mental aspect of it....
Problem is, I have no idea where to take it to... people are saying body shops, but I don't have a regular mechanic or body shop, etc. that I know or trust, so I don't know who to turn to for the metal work it needs.
I was hoping LG had a recommendation, but I haven't heard back from them yet, probably will just call Monday as Anthony says it's most likely their header system so I may just use them for the install.

I didn't see the PM before I left on Saturday. Great talking with you this morning though.
We'll get it sorted out, and get you taken care of right away!
