I kinda regret putting 4.10's in my m6. I only have a Vararam and Borla cat back and 1st gear is stupidly useless under any real throttle.

Maybe when I replace the OEM tires with some better rubber I won't have any regrets...

But I'm also putting in another 40+ hp with long tubes and a tune... can only exacerbate things...

I remember when I was 16 and wrote a paper for my English high school class. I defined the car I wanted then. The teacher didn't think much of the paper, but what I wrote about was a fully tricked out 57 Ford 2 door hardtop.

Now that I'm almost 69, I have that car. My 2005 C6, Z51 has been almost completely tricked out. The only stock pieces are the brakes, suspension, rear-end and tranny.

My mods include a forged 402 stroker, D1SC supercharger, AFR 225 heads, 1 7/8 dynatech headers, RPS twin disk clutch, Corsa Sports, Fast 102 intake, Areostealth fuel system, Majier electric water pump and more.

Got 72K miles on it, been down the 1/4 mile a time or two (10.6@133.2 before the intake and fuel system upgrade) and I still get a $hitty grin on my face everytime I drive it.

Mod On

Oh and for member "Its Stock", from the looks of your signature, you'd better get a new name.

Sounds like you would be richer if you had more patience and did it all at once.

Installing Zoomers exhaust and K&N filter. I could only take the drone for a year and removed them. Sold them for half price. The K&N looked good but the sucking sound was irritating. I sold it for half price also.

With all that power , I'm surprised you still have the stock rear , tranny , brakes and suspension. Sounds like more mods are in your future......

The 4" exhaust I put on my camaro. It was physically to big to fit between the crossmember and the body, so we wedged it in there.....
It sounded great, but the whole car vibrated at idle...

The mods I have done to the Z06 I don't regret. The mods I did to the 82, which was extensive, I regret. If I had to do it again I would have just left it as a cruizer, and been satified.

So what mods do you regret ?????

I can't really say I have any. I've been doing this a while and try to do my research first. But I got 2 words to solve your exhaust sound problem: B&B Fusion

Sounds like you should have chose the Xtreme over Sport. I've had both and the difference is docile to monster!

Not to offend too much, but do you think this guy regrets some of his mods?

I've got the zo6 mufflers i took off , so i'm going to give the muffler modification trick a shot , If not satisfied with that , I will move on to the fusions.

Might as well since you have them. From my personal experience, though, no other C6 exhaust can match the tone and adjustability the Fusions offer. When open, they have a deep muscle car sound. Closed, they still sound very good but without a lot of the rumble/drone of the open mode.

Hope to have some new dyno videos soon to prove my point

The only Vette mod I regret, and have since reversed, is installing a rear mounted trans cooler for my A6. I spent over $200 on parts and probably 20 hours making and installing the custom brackets. I couldn't get enough airflow to improve on the stock system without removing one of the taillights.

I regret my Vararam CAI....makes HP but you have to watch it all the time to be sure seals are in place, would never put one on a 50K car again... Changing to Callaway CAI this Spring.
