You say the MPG is about the same as stock in the first post (26-28), but state later that it burns fuel 25% faster. Have you actually done the calculations manually to get a valid average MPG or are you trusting the DIC reading, which is likely to be way off on E85?

It takes 30% more E85, there is no way to get around that. My car went from 27 mpg down to 21 or so. On our stock LS2 we are at 90% duty cycle at 350hp, on our other shop car, 2008 Z06 we are at 100% duty cycle at 500 hp. E85 burns very clean and the O2s love it along with cooler running and lots of octane, I wouldn't run anything else in my car.

You guys are correct. After running it for much longer I'm now on 100% E85 and I'm seeing my gas around 21-23 highway - City is about 13-14

Your duty cycles are right on because I'm a stock LS3 around 420whp with a DC of 90%. The LS3 sports the Z06 injectors which means I can have close to 500whp before having to upgrade the fuel system. I cant wait for Headers & Throttle body!

Once the rain get's out of Indiana I will do a pull at Indianapolis's one and only Raceway Park. I expect over 120mph however, nothing is set in stone. I will post my drag slip

Set your sights at 118 mph and you won't be disappointed. 120 is going to be tough to get in the summer with that power.

Even though it will be vetoed this time, the Senate voted 73-27 last week to abolish a 45-cents-a-gallon subsidy for ethanol from corn that is used for blending with gasoline. They also voted to kill the 54-cents-a-gallon import duty on ethanol from abroad.

Cheap E-85 may not be around in a couple of years.

I think the corn would be better used in our cars than in our body's...that corn syrup has got to go!

Guys,

Are you saying you can run E85 in an LS3 without harmful effects to the seals and pump? I thought an upgrade in the rubbers were needed?

Guys,

Can I run a full tank of Ethanol or made a 50/50 blend on a stock tune? Or would the stock tune be too lean?

VERY interested in this fuel.

That's about right...the US is all about profit today; not longevity tomorrow. This mindset worry's me

The Euro's beat us hands down when it comes to health and looking out for each other.

I am running 100% E85 on a 100% stock fuel setup. Our cars are designed to handle the blend. The reason for this is the majority of the corvettes fuel system comes from the Truck lineup at GM. I believe all V8 trucks come standard with Flex Fuel options now? Anyways, pretty much any car after 2000 was built to withstand E85 capacities. Once they started putting a average of E10 in standard gas all cars needed to support it.

I have logged almost 2k miles (I love driving) and have had ZERO ill effects from this mod. I know how this forum is about street racing so I will not go into to much detail however, I have a few new cars under my belt that i otherwise could not beat.

** Gas Mileage - Down almost 30% **
I think city is a little worse then it should be but, i'm sure this can be correct with a updated tune. I see around 20-22mpg highway depending on my MPH

**Acceloration - very noticiable upgrade**
The torque alone makes me quiver shifting into 3rd at WOT... New tires are needed

**Dependablity - No issues recorded**
Startup - cruse controle - acceloration - idle
All aspects have been perfect and to the naked eye you wouldnt be able to tell i'm on E85 (other than that AWESOME smell while under load)

I am going to data log the car this week and see if a re-tune is needed or if any room is left for more power. From now to then I will post any significant details.

Till then -

Sounds like its coming along nicely! I just started putting 100% Non-Ethanol in my car as of this weekend. Not enough E85 stations around. Ugh!

That is a good fuel from what I have been told. If i didn't have E85 and 100% Non-Ethanol was a choice I would go with that.

You can run E85 on stock equipment however, anything we due to flash the ECU will be a non-stock tune. I guess you could keep the timing tables the same however, the HP increase would be minimal.
