any of you guys done this? I am replacing my LS3 engine with a much stronger LS3 and people have been telling me my trans is going to fail. After heaing this I have been looking around at upgrading my trans but I do not really want to pay a shop to install parts. I have yet to see where they do anything other then install aftermarket parts and adjust the tune. I am looking at buying the alto clutches, hardened shafts and doing it myself. Other then the long snap ring pliers to remove the front pump cover is there any special tools required? Has anyone else tackeled this job?

You might want to talk to thesubfloor about any A6 mods. It seems to depend on what power you expect and what you intend to do with the car.

In case you haven't seen his primary thread hear it is:

Yeah it was a long read. I am looking at buying the parts and installing them myself. I have a lift at the house and I have the ability to do it so why pay someone else to do it for me. What I am looking for is the blue print on making a rock solid 6L80E that can handle 7-800hp

I understand what you're saying, just pointing out that thesubfloor can probably verify that there isn't "that much" that needs to be done. And he seems to have some solid tunes when you're done. Just sayin'.
