Mine is actually a little bigger than yours at 21#. The way my battery seems to discharge itself while sitting I didn't want to take a chance with the smaller.

I was looking at both, but opted for the lighter as I always have a battery pack with me in my car...just in case

I had a 13# in my Camaro and never had a problem but then it didn't discharge while sitting for periods of time. I do have a tender now so could probably go to the smaller.

I too used a lightweight battery in my Z28 as well but there is much less going on (computers/electronics/constant drains etc.) in that car than in the C6. I remember being able to let my Z28 sit unused for longer periods than my C6 without it dying when using a small battery in either car.
You guys do know the CCA is only 300. That is about the same size that is in the booster batteries. Later! Frank
Deka is conservative in their ratings. Braille uses the same battery and are far more optimistic. That said it isn't for everyone, but I have had no complaints.
If you don't mind spending $1300 on a battery I can get you into a Lithium Pro battery that weighs in at 4lbs! We have one in our race car, pretty cool to have a drag car with the battery still under the hood, in fact I think the battery cables weigh more than the battery!

for a race car where every pound counts I would probably do the same.

I could do that, or I could spend ~150 bucks and get a 6lb braille battery.
Sorry, but 1150 bucks isn't worth saving an additional 1.5lbs

I think there are some other benefits to using one of those lithium batteries over a small Braille/Deka than just weight savings, but I agree that that is A LOT of money.
So I'm about to pick up a lightweight battery and I had this thread marked for future use.
What are the reasons for not using the 6lb braille battery? I see a relatively small price point difference of $90 vs $150 but you would save an additonal 11lbs off the front end.
Is there some reason that the 6lb braille is no good?
I drive my car at least 3 or more times per week and sometimes I daily drive it--would the 6lb battery be ok for that duty?
