Installed my lightweight Deka battery
Good way to save close to 20lbs off of the front end (weighs about 17.5lbs)
Battery needed to be replaced anyway, so got a Deka with SAE posts shipped to me for just under 100 bucks.
This is the one I bought: Deka ETX18L
If anyone is looking for a lightweight battery, this would be the one I recommend.
Get it with Odyssey SAE terminals ODY-3217-0006 and it's a direct fit. Lays down flat in the stock tray perfectly. All I need to do now is get a strap to tie it down so I pass inspection at the track.

Seriously though, I always have a jump pack in my car anyway, but I ran a race-style battery in my firebird for years. It won't be an issue.

Thinking about a LW battery. With the Vortech lump added to the front of my car I would like to take some weight out or transfer(Z06 setup) to the rear. Let us know how that battery makes out.

Will do.
During the week we take my wife's XLR-V to work, so the car will sit in 100+ degree heat for a week without being started, so next weekend I'll give an update on how it cranks over after a week of no starting in brutal heat.

Deka is a very good battery I do beleive they are made in Pa. by amish Folk. I went through 2 AC Delco's, the first one I think the dealer ruined it by letting it run down then jump starting it all the time the second one lasted 11/2 years then I went to a deka so far for 2 winters now the car sat in storage with the battery disconnected with no heat in the garage, just hooked it up and it started the car right up, don't have to have a battery tender on it all the time when just sitting around it beats the heck out of the AC Delko's. I don't have the light wieght Deka though.
