I've had a MGW shifter in my C5 for more than 5 years with no problems. I was so impressed with the quality of George's products, that I ordered a MGW shifter for my Mustang. I drive both my cars 'hard' on the road courses and this shifter has never failed me. In fact, it ensure I never mis-shifted on the course.

Personally, I would have talked to George first before posting on any forum, but that's just me. You don't have to bang the gears hard to accurately shift quickly. Perhaps some people think it looks cool. I wonder, based on the photos, if part of the problem is attributed to the OP. What did George say?

I have an MGW shifter in my Z that was there when I purchased the car..........it doesnt look anything like the one pictured in this thread. My question is how many different changes have there been to the one for the Z and what are the different changes. Mine has an adjustable stalk on it that is offset. I also have another one that is threaded in case I want to go to an aftermarket ****..........Anyone know?

I have the same design style MGW as you do in my C5, which looks different than the current version (below), which looks different than the one posted by the OP.

Why don't you actually read the thread? George came on here and admitted it was his fault and another customer also said George told him same. Again people who don't give the effort to find out any info but don't mind spouting off about how others are at fault...........

That's because he must have had so many issuses with the design he sold me that he had to do a re-redesign.

Throwing names around doesn't add anything to the thread.

this will be the one and only post i will put on this thread besides my original responce trying to make things right.
i have refrianed from doing so for now as i do not like forum pissing contests but we need to get some facts straight...

first of all phkned...

you do NOT know me in any way and i would appreciate if you would not put words in my mouth , speak for me or slander me as you have with your personal vendetta.

the facts are this...

we had a bad batch of grommets. we thought we got them all. we didnt. we actually DID call several people after the first ones showed up but MOST everyone stated that it was such a PITA to take off the console that they would just wait and see if they fail knowing i would stand behind the product for LIFE!!!!

i NEVER told you it would be an inconvenience to contact my customers !!

also..

i did a little experiment and actually broke the ENTIRE rubber grommets out of the isolator and i was STILL able to get the car in every gear so if it stranded you at work i'm sorry but it should not have. but whatever there is no pleasing you...

i offered to give you a full refund...a complete new shifter whatever!!! you just will NEVER be happy...i understand all your hurt feelings about being duped and all but again you dont know me at all and if you did you would know that it would be the LAST thing i would ever do.

i dont even make my living on shifters i do it out of a passion and the reason i have 4 evolutions of the design is that i STRIVE to perfection!!!

_________________________________

it also seems that you must have some faith in my product seeing as you still are working with it to make it work even after you spread all around how ****** of a product it is.

________________________________________ _______

WHATEVER you need to make this right just let me know. but i doubt anything will appease you. there are just people in this world that no matter what you try and do they wont be happy...

we F%^&ed up!!! it happens i am human. my guys working at the rubber molding company who has been in business for 75 years are human!! they made a bad batch !! it happens. we stood behind the product. offered full replacement or full refund and you were what?? out 1 day stuck at work.

dammit man there are kids being killed over in the middle east defending our country every fricken day!!! boys giving up their lives for us!! is life really THAT bad for you that you feel so compelled to slam me and my company because you were disrespected so badly.

i am done. i am a Christian man and i care VERY much for all my customers and try to go way out of my way to make people happy. again you dont know me and i am sorry you have such a sour taste in your mouth but if you would set your pride on the shelf for 1 minute and stop being so arrogant you would accept my humble apology and move on with life!!!

regards
george ciamillo

Makes me want to buy an MGW shifter. Do you have them for a 08 C6 coupe and the 6060 trans?

I'll bet that's exactly why he "re-redesigned" it! /sarcasm

You are just plain ignorant, and most likely a spoiled baby! Who bought the car for you, mommy or daddy? Tell them you need a smaller, less-powerful automatic. Just make sure you have plenty of room left for your diaper bag.

Well said George, whatever the aforementioned crybabys prerogative was in posting this thread, I believe it has backfired on him and will only serve to boost your sales as it is a perfect reflection of your customer service in action!

On post #41, he bided his "Goodby", again, back at Post 47, 48 and 49, keeps whining on.

Personal experience with George from the Aloha State:

Before I bought the shifter, I asked George a lot of questions, due to some reports on stock **** issues, I was torn between stock **** or the threaded version, told him I wasn't going to buy his **** but to make my own, he withheld no such things as trade secrets, he made various recommendations on **** constructions. He than offered to send me the two stem design + two threaded inserts - all at no charge - to help me make my own **** version and to send back which ever stem design I don't like. I opted for the threaded stem after he assured me with a heavy **** design along with the thread stem, I will be fine. After I made my versions of the stainless **** per George's recommendations, minus using the insert, I asked him about the shift pattern located on top of his shifter, guess what, he sent me one the following week, again no charge. I choose to engraved the pattern instead but that is beside the point. As he had stated, he just share the passion, to the point where in my case, really no profit to him. This is certainly rare for anywhere and anytime!

Take it for what it worth people, I know the character of George certainly needs no help and his reputation has stood the test of time!!

Aloha!!

The shifters are the same part for *all* C6 Corvettes. Just order it direct from George:

http://www.mgwltd.com/corvette.shtml

George's shifters are works of art and his customer service has always been the standard to which many other forum vendors *ought* to aspire.

The phrase "Buy with confidence" has never been more appropriate than in this case.

And I have *zero* doubt that that the question "Who needs this aggravation?" have crossed George's mind and lips more than a few [dozen] times while dealing with this forum.

Again, my thanks, George, for your dedication to quality in all you do. I bow to you.

I've honestly been trying to follow the OP's point and in conclusion I would descibe him/her as a spoiled only child and appears he/she maybe is the "d" in d-bag but then again a lot of Vette owners deserve that moniker as well. Thats just my opinion, I could be wrong.......

Also interesting that phkned hasn't filled out his profile to reveal anything about who he is. Probably a good place to end this thread, and end the whining.
