Default MGW shifter failure

Hi everyone. My intention is not to slander a company but to just get any info that others have before I talk to MGW. The shifter I am speaking of is less then 6 months old and has less then 7000 miles on it.

What it looks like is the ruber bumper they are using to isolate the shifter habdle has broken down and allowed the shifter handle to wobble around on the 2 posts that hold that part of the handle together.

Anyone else out there with a similar problem?

I have had my MGW installed for the past two years and I have had no problems with it.

I would say this is an anomoly and MGW will make it right for you.

send him the pics first so he's got something to look at, and then call. I'm sure he'll take care of the situation. to my knowledge, have not seen/heard of that happening. not sure how it could be an improper installation, but is that possible? just asking, not accusing....

btw, I noticed your other thread re troubles w. the shifter box. so, both shifter and box seem to have failed at the same time? any possibility that one helped the other along to failure?

Just curious, why wouldn't you contact MGW first? Did you buy it new and install it? Or, did you over tighten the bolts?

George's customer service is first rate and he will take care of any issues.

Yeah sure! The intelligent thing to do is call MGW and handle your business with them. Coming here just tells me you're looking to start drama, not to mention you "ttt" your own post at 5:47am in the morning after posting at 9:30pm at night.

we have had this happen top a few shifters with this design and we have determined that it was due to 2 things.

1- the rubber compound on one batch of isolators was not post cured as well as it should have been. we discarded the lot but some had gone thru.

2- the rubber can actually tear from the stainless pistons putting too much force on them so we redesigned the upper isolator. we can send you a complete new isolator or you can return the shifter and we can fix it for you.

whichever you prefer.

Ya know something I don't read into others thoughts because I am not them maybe you should try some of that sometime. RESPECT OTHERS.
Now as I stated I didn't start this to cause a problem I simply wanted info such as if it was happening to others so I don't just have another one sent to me that will do the same. BUT I guess some of you can't grasp that idea and have to be accusing of others for whatever purpose that you need.

BTW when exactlly did it become a crime to some of you to come on here a ask a simple question without any malice mentioned in the post? Did I say something was a piece of crap or anything like that ? NO look at the post....

I have George's latest design which I installed several weeks ago and it works great. George is a 100% upright guy as can be seen by his prompt post and offer.

I think we're protective of George because he delivers an excellent, well-engineered product at a very resonable price and stands behind his products. This is very rare in today's world and we greatly appreciate it

You'd have been better off talking to George first. I guarantee you would have received the same results without the "negative press" you're now experiencing.

See this is what I don't understand. You all think that I am shading George's company in a bad light when all I wanted was some info before I talked to the man myself.

Answer this for me and then tell me if I did anything wrong.

Have any of you purchased a product and when something wasn't correct asked someone else who had the same product if had happened to them before you took it back? You all know that you have or at least would have of you knew someone to ask........

I feel that some of you need to take the lump of coal your trying to turn into a diamond out of your ballon knot.......

Send it in, have it fixed, and sell it to me or somebody else. Is this his latest design or an older one?

I would bet he shifts like he's trying to pull it out of the floor, why would you want to get info from other people before you called George? because you know YOU F$%* IT UP and your trying to get some ammo?
