I may not have had my thoughts together well enough before... Sorry. The FAST will give you at least 15 tq peak and 20+ in most places on the RPM band. I was on the lower end of the scale with gains. Many others saw 20/20 from ported LS2 to FAST. I saw 8/15 in August Miami heat. Trust me, it feels higher than that.
The NW may be worth 5 Hp (just a guess) up top, but dollar for dollar probably isn't as good a purchase as the FAST. I would be curious to see a dyno to prove. In addition, I think you would have a tough time selling your old TB to recoup any cost. The retune could be more involved with this as well (again, just a guess).
I had my TB ported and figured that was good enough. Not much Hp to be had, but a definate change in throttle response. With the stock TB being good to about 550 rwhp, I say its not worth the money for a NW until you are trying to squeeze every last Hp from your car. From your other posts, it doesn't appear that is the case.
Got ya, thanks. As you know here in So FLo, you hardly get to see stock power much less with mods. I wasnt even going to go any further than I have but here I am
Yeah my 90mm TB is ported supposedly equal to 92mm, but I wasnt clear with all that room for volume behind the TB that 92mm was restricting the 102s potential.
Yes... the mod bug is HIGHLY contagious!!! Do you road race by chance? Hooked on Driving is doing an event at Homestead Speedway this Saturday. It's sold out, but stop down if you're interested and I can give you a drive in my car and share some trade secrets.

Oh on the contrary, we've got three drag strips and three road courses within a couple of hours' drive..I consider this a great place for automotive fans! Sebring is just the bomb.
The 102 throttle body is way down on the list after you've grabbed the low hanging fruit of other mods. Put it on after you get an electric water pump and light battery.

True, I forgot to mention the exception of Homestead Speedway, Moroso and Sebring.
Im going to autocross maybe drag and do a 1 mile shootout one day, its my DD and my baby so I was afraid of crashing it or blowing it up before it was paid off and I had another DD to drive.
Also do you trailer to the tracks? I cant see driving all the way there and being successful without adequate cool down time.
Funny part is mine sounds like yours with cut outs open, problem is I don't have cut outs.
I understand that - I used to have a H/C c5 with Borla Stingers....great for the car show or drag strip, not so great at 6 am leaving for work! And I'm too old to have such a loud car all the time. People at stoplights looked at me as if my car was broken.
I'm a HUGE fan of the QTP cutouts. Best of both worlds.

I've been driving to the events and racing right away - takes 15 min to get through tech or so.
I do have a little tire trailer for road course events because I don't like to drive to Sebring on slicks. I do drive to PBIR and Countyline on drag radials and skinnies all the time.

Homestead is only 3 miles from my house so I drive there on whatever tires I'm using for the day. I do plan on trailering to Daytona next year though.
As long as you don't try to set any speed records and have a healthy respect for the car, you won't blow anything up. These motors can take quite a bit of abuse... just ask Jeremy at HPS. His LS2 lives at 7k and he has stock lifters and stock bottom end.

My buddy came over earlier while I was adjusting some things in the tune. He sat in the passenger side and said is the whole car suppose to shake like this. Then ask why does it sound like I can hear each cylinder fire, lol. My car is a weekend / drive to church occasional grocery getter/drag car. Its not my daily so its pretty much open and all out as far as the cam choice went. Cant wait for the t-trim that's when things will get fun.

Sean you have to try Sebring. It's by far my favorite by a mile and a half. 17 turns and flat out for a half mile on the back. What's not to love.
I just put the LSX intake on my 2005 Corvette. I still have the stock TB on it and a Air Raid intake that now are mismatched in height by about a half inch or so. Is there a better fitting intake system? I can't get the rubber connectors to fit right currently.

The FAST 102 has caused the TB to not line up with the Airaid?
It does fit but it's snug. Some people have modified the FRCs a bit to fit better but not sure exactly what they did. Maybe dremel out the clips a bit so it sits lower?

The frc's cut like butter with a sanding drum in the dremel. I posted up pics a while ago when I did mine.
Just hold them up to your runners and mark where they need to be cut with a pencil like tile guys do. Easy job, I didn't even chip my painted frc's.
