Not that I know of but I highly recommended to use the DYI thread cam swap. Now if your doing more then that just ask on forums. I did a h/c package and some other odds and ends. Ls1howto has a really good write up for h/c for the ls1. I got enough pictures to make an entire h/c swap guide including the little odds & ends.. so you don't end up doing what I did or warping your intake manifold. Yes your intake will need torqued in a certain procedure or you might warp it.

If you want, PM me your email address and I can forward the 'list' of references I used to do my cam swap. I did a ton of research ahead of time and saved them all for future reference.

I have that book and at this point its a bit dated. Better to get more current information elsewhere.

My first cam swap was on my 2001 corvette. I started about 3pm on a Sat afternoon and finished about 9pm on Sunday night. It was around 5am on Sunday when I jumped out from under the car with the cam in my hands and no one was there to hear me say, "I did it!".

All I heard was crickets outside.

Now taking my time its about 10 hours. I lost count of how many I've done.

Mine can be driven the 400 miles to your location for a cam install any time you say.

Awesome!

With that fixed, you will enjoy a fast new car.

Remember: put the o-ring on the pick-up tube and slide it into the oil pump by turning the unbolted oil pump onto the tube. Lock-tite the bolt on the pick-up tube.

Good to hear it wasn't a bigger issue. Sucks to have to take it all apart again, but it could have been worse.

Enjoy the car once back together again!

It definitely could have been worse.

Matthew, I take it you received the package? It should have gotten there by now.

Fixed it--with all due respect to Spin, CF identified the problem in this thread, and the original thread, long before he posted. Spin is good, but this one was a no-brainer

Glad to see you found the problem! Sucks you had to pull it all back apart, but it will be a good feeling when you fire it up and the oil pressure jumps up to 40psi!

I'm putting the new o ring in today and going to start it up when I get the pulley on.. Figure it wouldn't hurt to test it out just in case. I'm still debating on what might of tore that o ring like that? Any thoughts or was it just worn out. I surely hope nothing got sucked up in it.

You pinched it when it was reinstalled. Any nick, regardless of how big or small, will get exacerbated as soon as the motor fires up. 40+psi of pressure would have ripped it in half as soon as you turned it over and bam, it's done.

Good luck with the reinstall

but I thought he was talking about having sold him the head/cam package from my car.

The O-ring was a no brainer.

Nah spin you are a very legit guy to deal with. I'm sure if there was an issue with anything you sell you would take care of it in a proper manner.. If I did have an issue I wouldn't rant about it without negotiating with you first over phone. I am changing the title now.... as you will see in this video thanks guys for the support and help! I will finish installing everything and take her for a drive without 02 sensors installed just to get gas.. about a 1.5 mile round trip.

Outstanding Matthew, glad she hit 40psi like a champ. I remember that feeling very well.

Congrats on a successful h/c swap. Let's get a mod in here to change the name of this thread. "Successful h/c project!" sounds much better

Thanks Justin this owes a huge part to you. only other issue I'm having is the darn o2 sensor extensions.. Well I ordered one and it's able to plug into the rear but not the front plugs. Apparently there a really big difference. Now I debating on splicing off the o2 sensor extensions plug and hard wire the extension and the wire harness. Proper seal them together and wrap them in cool tape. What you guys think? I plan on to cancel the rears. One more final question.. Can I run a wide band in say the driver side 02 port and just use 1 02 sensor on the passenger side.. basically I don't want to remove the headers to weld in the bung.

Here's the front 02 plug

And here's the 02 extension that plugs into the rear but not the front
