1 - Summit 230606 stainless steel braided hose - 6 ft.
1 - Dorman 800-605 fitting (available at your local parts house) ( 2 if you bypass the radiator)
1 pkg 12055 from Pure Choice Motorsports - you will use only 1 fitting if you run your cooler in series
1 - Russell 640830 M16 x 1.5 to -6AN Flare fittting
1 - B&M 80278 mounting kit
2 - 1 1/8 x7/8" grommets - Lowes ( you'll need to make 2 holes in the side of your shroud for your cooler lines). I used my dremel tool for this.

If you’re going to bypass the factory radiator – you will need another Russell 640830 fitting and another Dorman 800-605 fitting.
At first - I used a B&M Super Cooler 70266 and ran the lines in series. I wanted lower temperatures so I ended up bypassing the radiator all together.
These parts will allow you to connect to your factory lines without any cutting, splicing or using worm type clamps. Stainless braided hose is a PIA to work with but you just have to be patient. You could use regular A/T pressure rated line if you decide not to use braided lines.
Good Luck.
Hi do you have any pictures of the installation? I have purchased the parts you recommended but could use a little help on how they all go together!
Thanks

I know this thread is old as hell but I'm really hoping you could help me out. I'm just curious what the 12055 fittings from Pure Choice is used for on your install and why the M16x1.5 -> 6an fittings? Wouldn't it need to be 3/8->6an if you're connecting them to the Dorman fittings? I really appreciate you listing all of this though. I too am getting ready to do a trans cooler install. Hope you see this!

Redrocket looks like he has a C-7, you can probably find him over there...

The differential will also benefit from a cooler if on a road race track. A cooled diff will also help keep the A-6 cooler.

Just a little update. Haven't been on here in months. Went ahead and did a tru cool 8x11x1.5 and it's working great. Red horse fittings and -6 AN line. Used a mini tubing cutter for the orignal hardlines right after the rack. Red horse -6AN to 3/8 tube adapter fitting worked great. 0 leaks and 160-170 trans temps usually. Only made 3 passes and the car went 10.581 @126.87 with a 1.390 60'
Full weight base model C6 A6 no skinnies (front 18x9.5)/no heads
Custom Grind Cam
Yank PAS3800
Vararam CAI
Ported LS3 intake/tb
LT 1 7/8 / ORX
NPP axle back

Default Trans Cooler Installation

Have any of your installations of a trans cooler, included pre loading the plate cooler with trans fluid ? I am worried about running dry until circulation and air is purged. I would drain excess after running.

Thanks

It's not necessary. I didn't do anything besides make the lines, mount the cooler and hook everything up. 0 issues at all.
