We live in good times boys...think about it, Norm adds an overdrive automatic with a not so big stall and a cam to his Z06.....he drives it to/from the track w/ the AC on chatting on the cell phone. Trailer? Naa who needs a trailer.

He does need a parachute.

traction is going to be key to great runs at MIR!
If the track prep is good(which I hear it is but wasn't so great last year),then I agree with Gary and Joe..... It should go 9.55-9.58.. I also predict if I can stand on it hard and hook that it will go a 1.28-60'
Last year I predicted a 10.11 and got a 10.15 but the track was bad and while there I realized I had the equipment to go a 10.08.... just didn't happen

Assuming DA in the -1000' range at MIR, my wild guess is 9.45 @ 139.50.

I sure wish MIR was in my plans this year, instead of 2014. That's going to be a kick a$$ event.

I'm really curious what it weighs. I'll bet it is darn near 3000 or less.
The aluminum frame is a nice thing to have at the dragstrip.

I weighed mine today and it was 3220 with a blower and auto trans.

I can weigh it this week end.
I saved 48 pounds on the front brakes and 46 on the skinnies.
also 12.9 on the front sway.
I don't know if the A4 conversion weighs more or not. Those are the only lightening mods done thus far... but more are to come
I'm sure the rears are light too.

How does it feel at the top end of the track without the sway bar ?

I swore I would not turn mine into another race car... but we all know how that works out.

I'm NOT pulling the AC off the car though.

Sounds like a set of wheels and tires will shave a bunch of weight for sure.

Sway bars do nothing when going straight. I take mine off for the whole racing season, but don't play real hard in the mountain twisties without them.

I've taken them off other cars and the top end can be sketchy.
They do help with high speed and straight line stability on a loose/heavy car.

Wasn't sure how the Vettes reacted without them. Haven't had them off the car yet.
I know a fatter rear bar will help at the starting line.

Just my experience in my '08 F55 car at 160 had no noticeable effect. Maybe the F55 shocks are the difference.

So far the only time I was ever nervous in how a vette drove was my old c5 with stock front wheels with some MT ET street bias plys... It was incredibly unstable. I hear it was because the stock fronts.. That if I had skinnies it would drive much better... That car only went mid 11s and it was a terror to drive!!!(with the sway still on)

Here are some runs from friday. The DA was very high...in the 2700-3000.
I spun on every pass and only managed 1 run in the 9s(DA was 2800 on that run)
The 10.1-10.2 runs were a result of spinning bad enough for the car to shift into second before the 60' mark so I lost a lot of ET.
Over all I was pleased to get into the 9s in those weather conditions even though it spun. I think it might have gone a 9.89 in the heat!!

Norm I tried those bias rear and stock fronts for a little while on my C5 and you're right, it is SCARY.

Just unsafe to be wagging your tail at 100+ mph. I shudder to think what would have happened had I needed to make an evasive move...something in the lane, whatever.

I tell everyone who'll listen, DON'T DO IT!

Norm, your car is just awesome.

Bought the ET streets and made one trip to the dragstrip with only them on the rear, next time I went had the skinnies up front and it was smooth saling...that was with the sway bar on too. I've run since w/o it and it's stable up to 130 from my experience, but can tell a difference when cornering. Vette has a pretty stiff suspension compared to other cars, so it does alright w/o it if not trying to pull Gs laterally
