Unfortunately this was amog the first things I tried to remedy my problem. Indeed the plastic around that connector was a little brownish, so I re-positioned the pin inside and also gave it a dab of dielectric grease. I don´t know if I could do anything there to get an even better connection, even thought about bypassing the whole fusebox and go through an additional external cable. Has anybody done this or considered it yet ? I am really frustrated with that car, my C4 is way more reliable.....
But thanks anyway for your thoughts :-)

Actually, I'm not quite sure what you did here. If you jumpered the pins on the relay so that it was triggered all of the time, then that's not the same as bypassing the relay altogether with a jumper wire. The relay could still have a problem where it won't stay closed even though it's triggered, if that's possible. I can't imagine the fuel pump relay is that expensive, to you might consider replacing it to eliminate it as the problem source.
The switch I wired in does exactly that : it bypasses the whole relay like a jumper wire. I did short out the "hot side" giong to the fuel pump, not the trigger side.
One question about this : Is the PCM the same as the ECM, located in the right fender behind the plastic covers ?
Yes, as mentioned earlier I checked the fuse box for that burned wire connection and it was fine. My fuel pump relay showing brown on the the case of the relay so I replaced it.Still no change. Ran codes pointed to a bad PCM.
My 05 had the engine shut off as well. Code PO601. Memory failure so I bought a used ECM part number #19210071 on line and had a shop reprogram it to my car and my problem was solved. Hope this helps someone.

Where did you get the used ECM from and who reprogramed it for you ? Im concerned about needing an ECM, or BCM down the road on my 05. Its my understanding that its very difficult to find these modules for an 05...........Thanks.
With all respect, your mechanics replaced a bunch of parts which would have nothing to do with the car shutting off while driving. The AC compressor and harmonic balancer being the least likely components. Maybe they needed to be replaced, but not as a solution to the problem you described. Plugs and wires are maintenance items, and even if one or two went bad while driving, the car would run rough but it wouldn’t shutdown. Not sure about the crank and cam position sensors but I’ve had the crank sensor fail on a GM engine, and the symptom there was a bit of a miss when accelerating, not a shutdown. My bet is that the fuel pump was starting to fail, and since they would have to drop the tanks, replacing the other stuff while they were in there makes sense. I’d likely do the same if the fuel pump had to be replaced. In any case, your car is back on the road, so enjoy!!
Rockauto has the ECU. order it and get on the waiting list for one. I picked up a used one and it is in my car now. I also bought one from Rockauto as a spare should this ever happen again. A local performance shop reprogramed to my car which I had to flatbed to them for this service.
Any advice or knowledge would be greatly appreciated. I just purchased a 2005 corvette and on the drive home it shut off on the highway 3 different times. All accesorries stay on and the car doesnt sputter, just completly turns off. I had to pull off the road before restarting. The display reads accesory mode then shift into park before it allows it to restart. I have an appointment to take it back to the dealer but was wondering if anyone knew what could cause this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
