Radiator replacement and jacking up the front end to pull the fan
My stepson asked me for help replacing the radiator on his c6. I've read that jacking up the front end to get the fan out is part of the process. In the HotTo section in this form they say that fan removal is not necessary. Any information you give me would be greatly appreciated as I haven't had any experience with radiators before.

I'm pretty sure I found directions in either a camshaft replacement post. Can't remember if it was on a commercial site or here. I'd guess here. I don't recall it being too difficult when I did mine.

That was blue in my google search so I used it at one point anyway

Thank you!!! all that responded to my quires. Your assistance was greatly appreciated.
It's been 30 to 40 years since I've performed any major work on a vehicle. They are so complicated now a days, but I still had fun, which is all that its about.
I had to break the clips. New install will begin next week.
PS; For some reason this didn't post last week.

Burning Brakes
In most vehicles, radiator removal is messy but simple and relatively painless.
The c6 is neither simple nor painless. It is such a royal pain.... I don’t remember specifics, but I believe I separated the fan from the radiator. If you don’t have to do this, don’t. I cut part of one of the tabs on the radiator or on the fan... I think the lower right one.
I recall that the ac line was a particularly difficult thing. I carefully bent it to get room.
Just take deep breaths before and during the procedure.
Note the fan connector - a lot of guys have had issues with them burning up.
lastly, put a Dewitts in if possible. I’ve seen a few for sale and they’re fantastic units.
