I am considering new heads for mine also.Any particular brands you have checked in to?
Haven’t looked into that yet. I will probly go with what Joe recommends (Cordes Performance Racing) he hasn’t steered me wrong yet and they do great work, takes three months to get an appointment, but there’s a reason for that.
If you find a shop that isn't busy, there is a reason.I think I may wait until BTR releases their new heads to see how they compare.I think they should be top-notch considering all the guys he has in the R&D department.

Brian's heads are likely to be awesome.
Tony Mamo's ported Trick Flows are proven. With my cam they made 520rwhp.
I think they will be too.Rick Smith was one of the designers along with Brian so there is just a little experience between them.He said they were looking to have them available this fall.I thought he may debut them at LSFest East in September.
Alot of great options out there so that's a good thing! My next cam will be your specs.

If you're doing the 230/234 cam, why not get a proven combo and just use the already proven Tony Mamo trick flow heads? I've had three results at 520rwhp and all were ported trick flow heads. One was box stock Trick Flow 235s which actually made 1 hp more. Most ported stock heads do worse.

At one time I was going ECS Novi 1500, but have now decided on the Spinmonster cam. I have a C6
LS3 M6, Trick Flow Gen X 255, GPI ported rod mod intake, Katech ported 90mm, Airaid CAI and 1 7/8 Tri y headers into 2.5” Flowmasters. Dynoed at 471/446. Hoping for 500 whp with Spin’s cam

Don't see why it wouldn't hit 500. I did it with a similar setup as yours along with a cam smaller than Spins. I did bump the static CR up a bit with a little head milling and a thinner head gasket set. Hope the Flowmasters don't hurt you as I found them to be pretty restrictive.
wrenching seems like the easy part i like to do everything myself. i've been trying to tune this car ever since installing the cam and i'm having no luck. i have what appears to be a surge or misfire like feeling at certain rpms at light load. runs like a raped ape full throttle though...

A really good tuner told me that the WOT part of the tune is cake. The hard part is getting the manners, drivability, and fuel eco at part throttle just right. After my original dyno tune, I took it to him just for a street tune. Rode around with him for a couple of hours on the streets while he made changes. Never once going WOT. I paid for two tunes, but totally worth it to get the manners and fuel eco just right. Full blown snarlin' bitch at WOT and sweetheart when she needs to be sweet.
i have a tuner working on it. i'm not making any progress. car runs good wot cruising between 2-3k rpms there feels like a constant miss. subtle not aggressive like cam surge. log's aren't showing anything out of the ordinary. car ran perfect before the cam.
i'm going to replace all the coil packs and see if it changes the behavior

I have a tuner that can help. I went through 3 tuners. My corvette has zero surge with a BTR stage 2 cam. Pm and I can help
Spin's cam is a pretty mild one. Shouldn't be that hard to tune. I think you have something else going on. With as many of his cams out there, maybe someone can send you their tune to compare to yours. My cam is slightly milder than Spin's and it drove around just fine on the stock tune. Didn't do any WOT stuff but did drive it around for several weeks waiting on the tuna.

Coil packs have nothing to do with surging. Get to a tuner that can restore a stock tune and get the airflow and timing tables tuned correctly. There must be 3 dozen cars running this cam on this forum with zero issues. Your car is mobile so drive it to a tuner that factually got one tuned right. A road trip is way cheaper than a cam install. All of this assumes it is installed correctly with no air leaks in the intake tract. I know how frustrating it can be, not knowing what the problem is.
This is a very low overlap cam and if a tuner can't tune this, forget anything bigger. I wish you were close to Colorado.
Where was the cam sourced?
I'd want it cam doctored if you do take it out.
