Check engine light
2009 c6 z06 427 check engine light came on, everything seems fine, what's the best way to go about having it looked at?
Suggestions on what kind, code reader, make and model would be welcomed.
Thank you for the replies.

Reason: Code reader was the top suggestion, curious what kind is best for my situation.

No code reader?
Fine.
Most ANY parts store reads codes for free.

Code readers are worthless IMO…they only read “P” or Powertrain codes…a scan tool below can read trouble codes from all modules.

You can get a simple code reader for 7 bucks on Amazon to avoid trip to parts store. Better to invest a min of 100 bucks for a fuller feature scan tool. I Use Tech2 but my Autel AL619 works well. Look for one with, at least, these features......CAN, ABS, SRS/AIRBAG, LIVE DATA
