I really Like the new digital dash and things like that. What I am really tired of is so many I see trying to hold on to the past and all the retro crap and ideas. Left up to them, the C7 would have friggin pop up headlights or grab bars on the dash etc. Leave the past where is is and lets move on. Ready for changes, especially with the C7. I'll be disappointed if they don't.

I have worked in computers for over 40 years. A lot of my life has been spent on new technology. Accordingly, I'm ready for all digital dash. (and if I will be allowed to customize it, choose skins/colors for it, then color me in!)

Agreed, me too. Few people who've grown up with computers and used them at school and work regularly are intimidated by the technology. Many new buyers would be impressed with cool technology and the welcome customization options. One option, a dash that looks like a cool analog 63 Corvette, another is modern and glitzy, yet another has digital read outs for those who prefer it.

I work on computers all day, have for about 30 years. I personally don't know what that had to do with anything, just because something is digital doesn't make it better. In fact, computers are not dependable think of how often people have to reboot. Regarding a dash, KISS, all I ne'er to know is RPM n MPH in cheapest way possible.

If I ever find myself driving for a week straight without ever shutting off the ignition, I might be concerned.
Of course, the engine is already being run by a computer... o noes.
Consumer PCs are not dependable because of what consumers do with them. I doubt you'll be surfing **** or installing crappy old software on your Corvette's dash.
I think the new Caddies' digital dashes could use nicer graphics and fonts, but overall I like it. The Aventador's by comparison seems almost over the top, too garish/gimicky. The LFA's has very good graphics and it's plenty fast enough to keep up with the engine (idle to 9000 rpm in 0.6s, apparently among the quickest-revving engines on the market). Watching this video is hair raising. I keep waiting to see red and blue flashing lights come out everywhere.

My way of saying because I work in IT, I have come to appreciate new technology. I look forward to it.
As far as digital goes and dependability, remember your car already runs by receiving output from a computer. So what's wrong with taking that technology that we use successfully already and expanding it to a digital display?
I'd rather not keep the Corvette dash the "cheapest way possible".
I'm perfectly happy with the gauge layout on our C6 except for the HUD. The graphics there are pre Pong and would make Commodore Vic 20 graphics look wonderful by comparison.

i like the porsche / madza design. what i hope we don't get is something like honda's fail of a cluster in the s2000. i remember driving one of these and thinking: gee this is a fun little car and gawd, this cluster is making me rage
GM had a digital gauge cluster fail with the introduction of the c4. Don't do the digital dash unless you do it right.
I would love for the center stack to be able to accept an iPad insert for additional functionality, for example. That would be sweet. I think someone on here actually modified their stack and put one in.
