Default Wasn't sold at first, then I went to the corvette website with the color selector...

Seeing it in bright red with black rims would have been my personal least preferred color choice combination which made me not like it since the unveiling. Then I went to www.corvettestingray2014.com and scrolled all the way to the bottom to find a pleasant surprise with a color selector that allows you to see 4 different views of the car with my choice of rims, and my opinion of the C7 turned 180 degrees!

Previously I had my heart set on getting a lightly used Z06 this spring and would have liked just about everything about the car but I also wished it would have a targa top and a tan color interior (both not available with the Z).

The C7 offers a stiffer frame, 450 hp... which is close enough to 505 for me, I'll assume the base model will have more choices with interior color just as the C6 did, and it's already confirmed the roof will be removable. More of what I wanted out of a Z06 (more power and stiffness)... and everything that the Z06 didn't let me have (tan interior/targa top). Oh... yeah... and that 7th gear was probably the tipping point!

Long story short, there is now one less C6Z buyer in the market... will be buying a 70's corvette to hold me over until I can proudly pick up a C7 in bowling green this fall!!!!

PS - I'm 28 years old and everything they did to "appeal" to a younger crowd turned me off... the grilles, vents, and black rims do not speak to me... However, my dream cars are 1 - vettes, 2 - camaros and 3 - ferraris... so the rest of the styling hits the nail right on the head to where the vents and grills don't even matter!

The first time I saw the C5 convertible, I thought it was stunning, and still do 'till this day.
I have a C5 convertible and think externally its beautiful.
I have a C6 Z06 and think externally its great looking.
I look at the C7 and think the rear is a Cadillac/Camaro mess and the rest is just ugly. No comment on the rest of the car, because if I don't like the looks of the exterior, I have no interest. Just my opinion.

I'll have mine in black.

Chrome wheels.

I like the styling and certain other pieces of news, but I need more details.

Given early estimates we have on curb weight, power output, and performance... I'm not very impressed.

The rear looks stupid but there are probably ways around that. I have owned many cars but I have to say this would be the first time that the availability of aftermarket cosmetic kits would be a decision factor. The interior and front end are big wins. What remains is the performance issue. If the curb weight is indeed 3300+, this will be a big turn-off. We'll have to see how the performance versions do.

As it stands, the base car would be a step down from my Z and my modified 05 Coupe, so I'll have to see what the C7 Z looks like. I also like the idea of a 427 Vert. There is something way cool about that and I may sell the Coupe and punch the ticket on one. I will also be taking a serious look at the Viper.

On a positive note - my wife, who has been pestering me for an Aston Martin Vantage, did a big double-take when she saw the front of the red car in the reveal video. She usually doesn't care about cars. Good news for me since that will save me about $70 grand...

32 years old. Third Corvette order since I first joined the club in '04.
Love it. Even the tail lights.

First in line at my dealer. Black on black, white contrast stitching, carbon fiber dash, 3LT with Z51, GT seats, visible carbon fiber roof.

Will be ordering base wheels wrapped in Pilot Sport All Seasons for the foul weather months.

60 people hate it, I guess those are the 60 babies crying here ad nauseam.

You can't deny those numbers. This car is going to be a huge success and that's a fact.

Oh stop whining. People are entitled to their opinion and this is a public forum. Whining about the whiners will not stop them from whining and makes you look like a whiner just like all the other whiners. This is not a dictatorship where all must comply or be executed.

I am sure the car will be a success but it is way too early to state that as fact.

You're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to point out that yours stinks and is not held by many.
I'd also like to point out that the 60 people who think 'GM ruined the Corvette' are the vocal minority here as the pole clearly shows.
Now back to your regularly scheduled whining, whine whiney mc whinerson. are you 16?

What, no rocket launchers?!?

But seriously, I don't understand why this and other modern vehicles have 24 inch headlight assemblies to house two 3 inch bulbs (per side.)

I think it will probably look better in person. It's designed to appeal to a younger buyer. Too many spoilers and vents for me. Not the classic look I prefer. Interior is probably an good upgrade. You can't please everyone.
