what do you get when a camero, dodge viper, nissan 370z, and nissan GTR all wreck into each other then the cousin of the guy that designs Ferrari's (who has down syndrome) tapes it all together?
Welp, the rear in this photo looks only slightly better paint matched, this way at least half the bumper doesn't look like it's missing when painted black
I have to agree on that one there. I am just not liking it at all. Im trying to like it honestly guys but it just didnt get me that holy sh-t factor this is it.
I LOVE the front and sides and the interior!! The back killed it for me!! I will never like the drooping vents surrounding the taillights!! I know they're functional and that is great but don't like the final product. It's gonna be a great car other than that!
The back does look very camaro if you ask me too. The car is to much change thats the problem here. A side window makes it look astin martin looking and the way the vents are placed in the interior look terrible and not even shaped to the others too. I hope it grows on me but at this time it isn't at all.

I like some of the things and do not like some of the touches placed on the car.
All personal opinion and based upon only seeing photos. May change if I see it up close in real life.
The profile view is nice. The second ridge on the bottom half of the door breaks up the side lines and makes the car look more aggressive and is nicer than the C6's lower sideskirt design. I am not happy with the flow of the vent on the side with the rest of the side profile though. A bit too much of an angle and too straight to flow well with the rest of the panels in the photos. Although its not easy to say what would look better either.
The B pillar is hidden by tint but in my experience that tint is hiding the wide pillar. So the extra rear side windows may not be all that useful. That combined with the thick rear window frames may mean less visibility out back. Again without sitting in one its pure speculation on my part.
I like the integrated splitters in the bumper and the front end generally.
However, the hood is very aftermarket looking to me. It is busy looking and has too sharp angular creases that does not flow with the fender creases. The vent is cool but a smoother hood with better vent integration would look better to me. I also noticed that the cheezy flap that scrapes everywhere you go is moved forward and more visible.
I like the rim design. Understated and if forged should be lightweight.
I am not too taken with the tacked on look of the rear fender vents. They stand out too much on anything other than black. A body colored integrated vent with a smoother transition into the body like on the Lamborghini Gallardo or Acura NSX concept would look better.
I am not a long term corvette guy so the taillights look fine to me. The upperhalf of the rear end looks good. The overall rear end on the C5 and C6 are both chunky in nature. C7 is the same but the breaking up of the chunky butt is not all that nice looking in the photo. Although once a license plate is there it would help. It just seems like its excessively large amount of black plastic. At least on the Ferrari Scuderia there were diffusers and vents making up all the black stuff. Personally I'd paint the center part above the exhaust and the rim trim of the black portions body color to give it more contrast without losing the smaller butt visual.
Interior looks decent. Until I feel the material and sit in it its hard to say more.
I like the car overall. Its pretty close to the renders going around for months. I think the Ferrari meets Viper Jr look may attract some new buyers for GM.
I like it. I want to see what options and models they come out with. I like the projected horsepower 450, what will the zo6 have?? The corvette now has the styling of Ferrari with the performance.
The C8 team is assemble and diligently work on the next generation.
And it's a very good chance the C8 either won't happen, or with the current CAFE regs will be a fulltime electric hybrid.
If you want a new Corvette with a real V8 that you can - for the most part - still control and drive (as opposed to vice/versa), then the C7 will likely be your last chance to get such a machine that is factory new.
Underwhelmed...design...not well intergrated....lots of surfaces going ever which way...rear end designed by a committee...a disfunctional one...engine...too complex....will be interesting to see with the hatch up...how high is the rear deck...you still have to get stuff in and out....one strong design que please...that would be fine...do it right...simplicity is the genius of great design...an old architectural professor once told me...we need more simplicity please..complexity without reason...is unreasonable.
I was on the fence about the C7 design based on renderings before the reveal and now after the reveal I am not so sure it's something I would buy at it's base/Stingray level. I agree with the too much happening and overdone opinions although I don't necessarily dislike anything specifically...I guess it's just everything together that seems a bit awkward (perhaps too many design/function features in one package.
Of course there is an obvious bias with what I own now but given the reveal tonight, there is not a chance that I would consider the C7 base over my 2011 SSB Z06. I truly hope the C7 and especially a C7Z evolves as gracefully in the coming years as did the C6 over it's 9 year production.
Much too angular and busy for me. Maybe I will be swayed in person but I really can't imagine it. 7 cheap looking black plastic vents, small windows behind the drivers side which serve no purpose, no classic shaped rear window, no round tail lights, no thank you. Very disappointed. I am sure the performance will be a bit better than most C6s, but I doubt anything will be competing with a ZR1 for a while.
