Something is wrong with the rear window its to rectangular looking it should taper to the rear more. I like the fact its 60% stiffer but the styling leaves me cold. There simply isn't enough traditional Corvette styling in it. The rear also looks chopped off and the tail lamps scream Camaro even more than I thought.
I said to my wife while we watched the streaming video of the unveling that they were showing all camera shots of the front and sides and almost none from the rear or side quarters. It felt like GM knows the rear is not the best and the producers were told not to show much of the rear.
GM came so close to getting it right, I was so excited when the car was rolled out and I saw the aggressive grill, hood venting, and sleak profile, then as they were rotating the view and coming to the rear I said, "Oh no, they didn't!" They really did put a Camaro *** on this thing! How stupid could the people at GM be? Corvette owners want Corvette lines, not a Camaro clone. This car could have been a big hit, instead, idiocy at GM prevailed and they screwed it all up. Sad.
The C7 has done exactly what it was supposed to do. It brought the corvette up to the styling cues of all the other exotic sports cars. It is different, but, in a very progressive way. I loved it when the tail lights went from oval to round and I really like the look of these new tail lights. It still looks very much like a vette and no one will mistake for anything other than that, in my humble opinion. Cudo's to GM, well done.
Sorry guys, but the rear end just does not do it for me. I think the Aztek engineers got hold of that rear end. I'll be keeping my C6 for now. Maybe it will grow on me. Definitely not love at first sight like the C5 and C6.
I'm thinking of just doing some upkeep on my Victory Red C6 and keep that for a while
It will take a while but I think in a few years the rear end will actually be the design feature that is most identified as truly "Corvette." Nothing else out there really looks anything like it (certainly not the Camaro unless you are on hallucinogenics).
Overall I like it, but the spoiler looks a bit tacked on and I can live without the cartoonish sting-ray badges. I'm not sure about the CF roof, either (looks only) -- I think body color will look better and I am sure they'll have painted ones.
The interior looks to be a grand-slam. A C4 that one can actually get into and out of without being a contortionist. Nice.....
First impression------Don't care for all the square lines, especially on the rear end. Like the over all interior. I think they tried for too much change. C5 was good, C6 was good but this is pretty radical with all the sharp edges. I guess they simply wanted a different look. I do not like the rear end. To me, it just does not look Corvette.
I'm really sorry, but I'm not feeling the love of the C7 at all. Maybe once I see it in person, I will like the lines. I'm really not too crazy about any aspect of it, including the interior.
I was so hoping I would fall in love at first sight, but it's not even lust at first sight
On The Fence - but happy to fall on my side of it . . .
I don't hate it . . . but don't love it either. That back end is - well . . . strange looking. It may very well grow on me, and I may very possibly own one in the future. But for now, I'm totally content to have a 430 hp C6 Corvette waiting for me in my garage.
I'm all in... I will wait till years end to get the guys want to pay over sticker and the 1st year potential issues out. But by this time next year I will get on the train for one or the Z06 depending on pricing performance
it's OK, don't much care for the plastic around the Camaro tail lights and the black plastic around the exhaust. Maybe in person it will look better. Will be keeping my C5 and 2 C6's for now.
The C6 is a much better looking car IMHO, especially the wide body Z06 and GS. The C7 rear end is just too big - I don't like it (and I do like the Camaro). The front end looks great and from the side its ok. I won't be in line for one.
I really like it. Seems to be much more exotic and it looks as though the interior finally is up to the standard that the Corvette deserves . Sure would love to see what the vert looks like. I think that the car will look even better in person. Can't wait until next weekend as I will be able to check it out in Detroit.
I think the design is to choppy especially onthe side of the roof line, fabricated rear side window, rear deck, in addition to all the vents on the hood, doors and rear quarter panels. Considering they had 8 years i think they could have have made the overall look smoother. In truth until I see one in person I really won't know if I like it or not. But my first impression, is they seemed to try to imitate other cars such the GTR, aspects of the Camaro and the Viper which I think is disappointing because Corvette always lead the way and I'm not sure this version hit that mark. At best I would say the juries out.
As a Corvette enthusiast who has had 6 since 1987, who was eagerly awaiting the C7, I have to say I am a little disappointed.
