Not overly impressed. Front end looks very similar to recently released Viper, lot of gimmicky stuff on the body, rear end is a bit camaroesque and I don't like the high rear black valence (sp?), would almost necessitate buying a black car to tone down the ricey aspects. The weight loss is modest and estimated power is line with GM's typical minor power increases for the base from one generation to the next. I can readily identify the stylistic gimmicks that were used in an attempt to lure a younger buyer. Biggest improvements are clearly in the interior.
I have owned 9 Vettes, do not currently see the need to replace my '10 Z06, currently weighing in at about 3050 lbs and over 600 emission legal h/p. I will have more interest in the C7 Z models, which will present more of a performance challenge to what I have now. Sure the LT4 will be a S/C implementation, with a hopefully more attaractive exterior.
I predict it will be a hot seller for a very few months, but will quickly become dated and just another member of the class of these cars reaching out for 40-50 something "toy"dollars. This group is getting ever more competitive with greatly improved mustangs, impending intro of Jag F type, greatly improved P-car Caymen/Boxster models.
The release was anti-climatic because it didn't really provide much more info than we have already had for quite some time.
I agree totally! The front looks like a 370 Z, side view is Nissan GTR and that rear is (ugly) Camaro. This car has 0 class and is going to suffer in sales. Is it neat? sure it's neat but neat is for kids and it appears by the comments here.. true Corvette enthusiasts are not impressed.
So I wonder if its the younger that are liking it and the older that arent? Me Im 51 and I like it, the back could use some change but Im sure there will be some aftermarket parts to address those issues. Im waiting for the power numbers and the MSRP. Im liking a better interior thats for sure.
I love the car except for the tail lights. I still think that a car as important as the Corvette should not share with any other car of the line. But that being said, if I can get one first year I will. WITH TRACK SEATS!!!!!
If not I'll take a second year.
are you blind?????
the only one whos saying the C6 price is falling, they are looking for one or they don like vette!!!
IT look like a crossed breed between a GTR that rear ended a viper. I know its a matter of taste, but damn the rear is ruining a otherwise not so bad vette. I do mean RUINED

I like it, the rear doesn't look like a Camaro to me, just different. Would like to see it in black, not a fan of black wheels, hope there is chrome option. The interior does like. C4ish but pretty cool. Like those tan leather seats. I like black on black but might go with those. My main issue: I don't want to end up buying these and then they come out with a grand sport version with the widebody and meatier tires. I love my 2010 black grand sport, and waited for years for the affordable wide body look, as I cannot afford the eventual zo6. I know my gs tires are 12 inches wide in the rear as opposed to the 10 inches wide on the base c6. Do we know how wide they are on the base c7? That's basically the dealbreaker for me I might wait till second year of production to see if a grand sport widebody is available. Like the stingray moniker though but I wish they were providing a dual clutch transmission, most world class sports cars have them, I don't get it, otherwise I think it looks pretty sweet!
The C7s one and only OEM Michellin Super Sport tires are what the latest Ferrari 458 and Porsche 991 have as available and is by far the preferred fitment , but they may end up with Pirelli PZero which are the second choice, as it is random install at the factory.

This old white guy likes it. It makes the C6 look bland by comparison, like one of those generic cars in the rental ads.
I think the rear quarters look a little bulbous in some views, but overall I like the proportions and the details. I'll withhold judgment on the interior until I can actually touch the materials. I've been disappointed by GM's idea of "quality" materials before.
I definitely have to see one in person. I ran my laptop to my tv and watched the reveal in my living room with my girlfriend...She loved it...I thought it was cool to see a new vette, but nothing in me said "I want that". And I actually want to want it. Right now I'm thinking about how I can get a low mileage GS to be honest. Hoping to see it on the street and love it though.
I find it absolutely hilarious that we first saw this car months ago. After watching the "AutoWeek" video, I have to say I really like the car. The two things that I don't care for are the quarter windows, I just think it would look better with the body panel there. I also think the side vent is a little to much. I would've liked to see something a little more subtle there. (But it's not a bad as I feared). The rear end, tail lights specifically? I think they work with the design, but, I also think they if they spent more time on it, they could've come up with something better. I'm not one of those 'gotta be round' people, but there's just something off about them, can't put my finger on it.
But what GM achieved in the technical aspects is what really sets this one apart. Let's start 137+/- lighter overall, along with adding 57%? stiffer chassis? Not to mention attaining a perfect 50/50 balance? That's good stuff right there. This is going to be the Vette that rides on rails, no doubt. They may not even let it compete in autocross anymore, it'll be that good.
While reliability and durability might still be in question with the LT1, and we were hoping for a little more output. 450 ft/lbs at 4000rpm and under 4 sec 0-60 is good...for a base model. But keep in mind, this is just the first edition of the Gen V small block. I'm sure there is much to come from this mighty mouse in the years to come. It will be fun to watch.
The interior is nice. Choice of seats, that's good. I would take mine without contrasting trim pieces though. I just think there's enough detail going on there that it is not served well with the extra contrast. But to each his own. Customizable DIC is very cool.
Overall, I think the Corvette took a huge step forward today. This is very good start to an exciting generation of Corvette.
Anyway, that's just my take on it. If I were in a position to order one today, I would without hesitation...black on black and a Z51 please.
