Once again I'm in the minority. I like the back end, looks like a new light years ahead Corvette? Overall I like the car, color specific. Have to see the interior in person, to really get the feel. Can't wait to test drive a demo. I'm looking forward to ordering a convertible, it will not be red with black wheels. By the way, I'm a young 64 year old male.
I need to get a second job. I won't sell my FRC for one, but I want one bad now.
Exactly my thought. My '00 Nassau Blue baby is a part of the family, but boy would I like to bring a new sibling home! I'll have to wait a few years, but who knows?
Rear styling is fine IMO. People hated the C6 fixed headlights like they hate the rear tail lights.
Seriously, folks, is *that* all you can find to complain about? I'm more concerned with how the LT1 works out with the cylinder dropout, whatever they call it.
Auto rev-match on downshifts? Not DCT, but not nearly as complex, either.
I love my FRC. I've always liked the C6, but not enough to seriously work one into my budget. C7 may just change that.
Jury's still out with me...Styling in some areas, looks similar to what Cadillac's been doing for some time now...futuristic, sharp angled creases & chiseled lines...BTW, the early release of the C7 emblem alone, was a pretty good preview of what we all seen in Detroit today. IMO, judging by what appears to be, the introduction of rear 1/4 windows with a flat, straight-across rear glass from the aft roof line, all the way back...could this possibly be making room for rear passenger seating?...if so, it may also be GM's attempt at invigorating sagging sales by turning it into a "yuppie-mobile," to accommodate what might be the 1.8 average number of kids per family in that professional, working-class category these days, along with their sufficient enough salary to fuel a Vette budget? Lastly, contrary to what the GM exec's introducing it at the show were touting the C7, as being 1 of the only models worthy of the Stingray name (what are all the other Vette's, chopped liver?)...Stingray or not...don't think it's a classic yet...time will tell...not GM's stuffed shirt's!
I think the car looks super cool. yea the rear looks camaro'ish, whatever. the same people saying, "oh god the corvette image is ruined" are the same ones that hated the "non flip up" head lights on the c6 which is the best thing that has ever happened to the corvette. The c4 looks completly the same a camaro for that era. Who cares, its just what it looks like. The car is sweet and anyone who disagrees is just mad because it didnt turn out the way they thought it would. I bet if the car just was released without any publicity, we would all like it.
Well I think it looks great..definitely says Corvette to me and bang up to date. There will surely be no mistaking the new model for the outgoing model like when the C6 first appeared!
My first and probably last post in C7 Gen for about 10 yrs Then again Cali will have probably outlawed V8's by then
Ciao!
I love it, love the interior, love the whole thing. It is a slam dunk win. All of my friends never liked vettes at all, but after seeing this they do. I never thought I'd think about parting with my C5 since it's my first Vette, but I may have to take the plunge when the C7 is out. It also makes me no longer regret waiting a couple years to buy a C6 instead of a C5. I think I will be OK never having owned a C6.
Was at the Reveal last night as part of the 150 folks who were there from the National Corvette Museum event. Before the event there were many, probably 25% (maybe 35%) who were not happy with the rear of the car (as shown in previous renderings, articles, etc). However, after seeing the car up close, most of those folks really liked the car, many commenting that they were surprised that they now even like the rear.
If you are on the fence, or those who know you don't like the car, but have yet to see it, wait till you see it up close, for many of you will then want one.
Based on the pics, there is good and bad here....like the front end moldings for the splitter and rockers....interior, have to see in person....but the rear end, my worst nightmare...looks like a Camaro...big bummer....at 450HP, not that impressed, and the motor management system, that blows...just drive one and you will see how well that works...to make matters worse, the GM Chief is bragging that this car will put other high-performers on the trailer....we will see.....not getting rid of my 09 Z, may end up on the dark side with a new Viper...if the car is not at 500+ HP, it is not a player in the super car stage....
