base price, 59k !
I would suggest a 1lt z51 will range to 59 grand..IMO/QUOTE]
Back in 2007 I paid $43.440 for a new 2007 C6 1lt MN6 Z51 with premium color (VY). If your suggestion is right, it'll be a difference of $15.560, around 35% more of what I paid 6 years ago.

Is this car worth 35% more? I don't think so.

The msrp jumps up a few hundred a year so take that as a guideline. Often times an option becomes standard or visa versa..
The bottom line is my suggestion is don't sweat the c7 price increase...it will be minimal as long as we associate the c7 z51 with the price increase of the c6 coupe to grand sport model..
If I remember correctly my 2008 c6 z51 1lt with NPP MSRP was ~ 50 grand...
If we take into account all the now standard features of the new stingray we will see the pricing is appropriate...
Many new standard features used to be optional....so we will have to figure some price increase on the new model...ie telescoping steering wheel..
None of us like price increases yet I believe the value for us will still exist and the price increase will be minimal considering what's included that used to be optional if even available...
Worst case scenario....wait a few little longer to purchase....
If I remember correctly...by the time I figure my cost of ownership...it translates to probably 250 to 300 a month considering length of pleasurable ownership and residual value...
I think owning any corvette is more than worth the cost of ownership.
An A ticket ride for sure...

IMHO
The grand sport c6 coupe is more comparable equipment wise to the c7...Z51
And I also have a c6 LS3 z51
Remember none of us including GM have definitive pricing yet on the c7 or any of it's option packages

Quit bitching about a $60K base C7....the car is worth much more than that! This car would be priced just fine even if it started at $85K+!!
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
My 2013 limited-production, leather-wrapped, nav/loaded, 505HP 427, convertible, with 285/335 wide tires, for $78K, is look'n pretty good right now...

Higher profit margin per unit is definitely a good goal. Fewer sales will enhance the desirability and resale value.
Why would GM want to price it for the lowest common denominator?

I love the folks comparing the base C7 with Z51 package, which then is no longer the base car, with GS pricing to justify the $60K price.
I am bookmarking this "great??" thread to see who is correct once GM announces the MSRP of the base C7 coupe. Arrogant *** that I am, I'll take my $53K as being a LOT closer than the 'mere' $60K (thus keeping out the riff-raff) being tossed about by the H-Rs.
