The C7 may very well come in at 450/450...however remember that BMW and many others UNDERRATE their engines. The BMW turbo 6 shows 300, yet the dyno reading equates to 340. The BMW turbo 8 shows 400, and the dyno equates to 430.
So the dyno will likely show that the C7 could have been rated at 470.
The much improved tires are equivalent to the larger C6 GS tires, so a current C6 coupe on those tires would run close to 4.0. So you can expect this C7 to run at 3.7 in the car mags.
I hope they do underrate the power like Bmw. It's always a treat to find out you're packing more power than you realized.
No he's not my personal friend, and your not either, and you won't be accountable. Do you really think he is going to say:..."The guys who've run mules at VIR are getting lap times competitive with today's Z06" in a nationally published magazine if it is not true? what does he have to gain from that? He knows the cars will be tested by various media, and it would hurt his credibility if not true. Talk about getting real.
Actually I have traded emails with him a few times to help a forum member but thats another story. The point I am trying to make is that everything that has been said now is very fluid. Nobody and I mean nobody can predict what the performance of this car will be until the fall. They are trying to take some weight out now. I am sure they will succeed but the performance figures some of you are hoping for I doubt will be there. The performance models coming later will fill that void.
Did you see that the Camaro ZL1 was a full second faster than the Mustang GT500 in the most recent C&D Lightning Lap?
Yup - but, IIRC, the Boss 302 was faster than either one of them at Laguna Seca. Lower weight sometimes is better than more power, especially on a tight track.

YES I did but the Boss has what 444hp? and has a weight around 3700lbs? It seems pretty damn impressive to be running with 505hp and 3200lbs. As for the ZL1 at what 580hp and the Shelby at what 650hp what is your point? This little 444hp Mustang hauls ***. So if the 450hp C7 can post these numbers it would be nice.
