Fiberglass rear end? Good luck with that.

Now I don't know what you can do about the aweful roof style except just make all Corvettes convertibles. The roof style looks like a cross between a Rambler Marlin and a Datzun Z. They need to just throw out the whole project and start over , but I guess it's too late for that.
I've got a feeling your video card is not outputting at your monitor's native resolution, and you are getting a lot of distortion. Check your display properties.

A good point was made about the new Viper how it does not share it's tail light design with either the Charger or Challenger, while both of those are good looking cars a single horizontal tail light across the rear would be ugly and out of place on the Viper. In fact Chrysler group was smart and broke off the Viper completely from Dodge to further differentiate it into it's own brand. The Corvette needs to separate itself from the rest of Chevy designs, not have similar tail lights to a Malibu and Camaro.

The round tail lights are also strong Design element on Ferrari and they have always found a way of keeping it fresh and new while still keeping to a design tradition. They aren't going to try to incorporate the design from the Fiat 500 into any Ferrari car any time soon.

Why? It's a Chevy. What's wrong with it sharing some styling queues?

BTW, I don't see the resemblance to the Camaro still. I only see a little chrome trim around the bezels as the only shared styling.

It is not the first time in years all age groups have liked a corvette.
You just want the C7 to be the second coming, have to wait and see.
not a lot of people said Obama wouldnt win. Just the ones that lost that hoped he wouldnt. Its a good thing he won. America is lucky to have him.

we who like the car would then eat crow if the car didnt sell as well as the last year of the c6 production then. If it exceeds that sales rate, because then more people would like the new car, then someone else would eat crow. So lets see what the first full years sales would be. Such an awful looking car wouldnt sell well. But if it is better in appearance, and fresher looking, by definition it will sell better. Simple as that.

Autoweek says that the C7 is the first major design in 17 years. That must be the cause of all this hand wringing among Corvette fans. They must want the old car back.
Change is the most difficult thing to accept. The car will sell and change will happen no matter what is said.

I think it will sell because it is something new and there are some people that just want to be the first to have the latest thing and are willing to overlook the parts that they don't like which is what is happening here with people saying they don't like the back end but will buy it anyway. As this design gets older and something else comes out , that is what will decide if it is going to be a real classic because the newness will be gone and it will have to stand on it's own as the C6 is doing now. I don't really care because I don't likethe C7 and will never own one but just my opinion. We all have our right to our opinions because we are americans and it is our only american sports car.

the c6 was very nice, but it had its day. 9 years is a long time to keep a design. It reminds me of the 360 ferrari modena. Very rounded and smooth. It still looks great of course, but the new 458 and especially the new f12 berlinetta come off as more contemporary. Those videos of the cyber grey corvette with the tan interior look fantastic. The car looks almost as good as the berlinetta. On some angles, even better. The more modern look of the car, when people see them go by in the flesh,, will just further enhance sales. The car is stunning, from every angle.

Alan I have a question for you. If the new C7 came out and looked like a 1963-1967 Stingray would it be a hit? I'd say 1000% and it has nothing modern looking about it!

I bet the rear gets a update from the factory before there is a C8.

My favorite car of the ones I owned, was the 64 coupe.to me all vettes make me look at them when they go by. If someone made a 63 to 67 as you suggest, and it had all modern build and quality, i would enjoy that car very much. I remember seeing a c2 restomod c2 on youtube with i think was the zr1 motor and all new other components that looked tremendous. Lots of vette years were significant. I think the new c7 will be a winner in the long run. It's just very slick and I think a c7 in cyber grey will look nice beside the Little black z4 in our driveway

Glad to hear your candor, thank you! I owned a 66 coupe too and would own one again in a second if they did as you suggested with all modern components. From my perspective and it hasn't waivered from day one is they are trying to make the C7 something it's not! I personally love American style muscle and sports cars and feel they have departed too far from that with the C7. People on here call that whining blah blah blah, I just call it my opinion! I honestly would not trade my 427 for a C7 in a million years, but to those who love it I hope it is the car you expect it to be!!!

sometimes, its like Jay Leno. Better to just keep what you love and then add. I look back and there were a few vettes I wish I had back and just kept around and added rather than traded or sold.

Sure hope so. But it seems the majority of the older crowd likes it. Just smooth out that diffuser so its not a giant rectangle on a sexy sports car, and the car would be money, I could even swallow the crying vents off the lights. Best part of the rear is the lights, great evolution there.

Go to you tube and type in 63 split window zr1. It's the car in deep blue. The build looks so well done, and I think the car looks spectacular. See what you think. I would buy that in a minute
